Great deal! Bargain in my eyes. Will go grab a pair on Monday.

  • Hmm, I guess it is good if you compare it to staticice.
I got the same Kingston RAM except it was a 2x2gb kit for DDR3 for $99 delivered from pricesengine though.
And I think generally DDR 3 should cost more than DDR 2.

DDR3 and DDR2 prices are nearly the same, DDR2 will soon start costing more as DDR3 production ramps up and DDR2 ramps down (economies of scale). Try looking for prices on DDR1 and you'll see what I mean.

      • Couldn't have said it better myself. It's the same with IDE hard disks.

        • Hmm, maybe i should see how much my old IDE drives will go for on eBay :p

Its already pretty high. By comparison 18 months ago you could get branded ram 2x2gb for $70

        • Supply and demand increase and decreases the price quickly.

Umart now has 2x2g ram modules at $118
          Kingston DDR2 4(2x2G)PC6400 800Mhz - KVR800D2N6K2/4G [6] Instock $118.00

  • wow, why are the ram prices keep going up?? (especially the desktop ones) Granted DDR2 is about to be phased out but DDR3 isn't getting cheaper any time soon..

    • Branded 4GB DDR3 regularly goes for $99, I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

You won't see 2GB DIMMs going for $30-40 ea any time soon like we did with DDR2. At the time, manufacturers were overproducing DDR2 and were selling below cost.
