Food at Airports

Flying Tiger today on a mid afternoon flight and they announced "1/2 price hot food". Made me think…
What do OBs do for food at the airport?
1. Qantas Club - fly jetstar and use your 2 x free lounge access from your "black" credit card.
2. Mackers/HJ breakfast - bacon+egg muffin, + seniors (free) coffee $3.95

Anyone found a bargain?

Looks like OP passed around a few Mack'Negs..

    • Have a plus-vote.

  • You can pack your own things, my wife an I drank the airlines wines, but prepared our charcuterie platter with cotton serviette.

    • You did this in the airport?

      • No on the plane, you don't have to eat that nasty food. Pack your own in carry on, just no liquids

        • Ah, I see. The op was asking about airport food so I assumed that's where you were eating.

        • @PVA: sorry thought op was on a tiger flight.

        • Why no liquids on domestic?

I might prepare a charcuterie platter to test the customs beagle's resolve.

Take a whole Nandos chook on your flight. make sure you keep it warm in a foil bag or something
then open her up mid flight
That aroma is enough to make everyone salivate with envy

pork belly is good too but I've not been able to keep the crackle crackly.

    1. Pack a sanger from home.
    2. Bring a bottle of water.
LPT-dont attempt to BYO durian to eat on board. They just might evac the entire flight.
  • Always pack my own
example was a 10 hour layover for connecting flights

Cutlery/napkin courteous of random food court
I normally freeze one water bottle to keep everything cool

Wash dishes and brush teeth in the rest room

A packet of durian wafers will make the whole flight wish they brought their own snacks.

  • When I used to fly to Sydney a couple times a month, I'd get the soup at pie face at about 6am on the Virginia side. The guy serving asked where I worked he saw me there so frequently. The spicy couscous chicken appeared to be one of the healthier options. On the Qantas side, I'd get a quesadilla and a beer.

Groupon is selling mrs fields coiffed and cookie vouchers that are valid at Sydney airport.
