I have two identical netbooks, one has the recovery partition and everything erased. I'm looking for a free app that can be put on bootable usb drive to replicate the second netbooks partitions and restore onto the first. What program should I use to do this?
Clone Partitions and Data from One PC to Another?

I was testing Mini Tools Magic Partition "Free" the other day and it worked well. It's small and the free version does the job. https://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html
Edit: Oops sorry, this isn't backup and only good if you took the other Notebooks drive out and attached for cloning.
Yeah thanks. I guess I'm looking for something that will copy a complete drive including partitions and files to a usb hard drive and then extract the info to my other netbook… Maybe it can't be done?
It certainly can as per @hell0 aboves comment.
For simple and free cloning most people will suggest:
- Macrium Reflect FREE https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree
- Clonezilla http://clonezilla.org/There are but a few examples. Just use either.
I use Acronis True Image 2017 but that is a paid solution as it doesn't simply clone but changes partition sizes where needed and lots of other stuff where the hard drives are not similar.
