My office chair broke and i need a new one, but I'm VERY cash strapped at the moment.
Was surprisingly comfortable. It is just above the Officeworks free delivery threshold.
Can anyone suggest a better deal for a similar office chair?

+1 for gumtree.
Whats a business park? My experience with gumtree has been…less than stellar.
business parks are places where there are lots of office buildings grouped together.
A good example is Macquarie Park, it is densely packed with nothing but offices.
Often, businesses that are moving, or renovating, have hundreds of pieces of furniture they no longer want, and want to discard. So instead of paying someone to remove them, they put it on gumtree and sell it to get some money back.
You can also drive around such areas and even pick up unwanted technology from the bins. A guy I used to work with picked up a fully working Mac server with 32 GB of RAM
Hmm, any other suggestions?
Not any deal on it but I have an ikea chair "malcolm", pretty decent imo
There is also the police auction route, find out who the police use for public auctions and see if you can get a cheap chair from there.
For instance in victoria there is the breen group that do it.

just remember there is usually a auction premium to your price (+20% usually)
Those auctions are for people who want to get high value items for cheap, not one cheap office chair though.
You can go on gumtree and search for high quality office chairs from nearby business parks. They are usually thrown out for very cheap prices or sometimes even for free.
