I purchased a wall charger off ebay for a few bucks but it gets extremely hot (the actual charger) and often sparks when I plug it in. I dont really feel comfortable using it when I'm not watching it or not at home.
Any places where I can get a reasonable samsung charger for a decent price?

Yes. Your one doesn't have the 9v quick charge ability. Only applies, I believe, to Note 5 and S7 phones.
Quick charge and fast charge are two different technologies.
So it doesn't matter if my phone is the S5?
@aaronza:no doesnt matter but it will charge alot quicker than a standard s5 charger ive got a s7 and my wife has a s5 she always charges through mine cos its quicker
