Hello brilliant OzBargainers
I am looking for a cheap laptop for my mother, just for personal use (emails, word docs, internet browsing, uni assignments). The only thing is she often has many browser tabs open, and it needs to run 2 existing screens and keyboard/mouse (through a dock, for example).
She currently has a 2012 mac mini which is dying, partly because it has been turned on all the time for most of its life. She wants a new computer, and is giving me the mac.
I have been interested in the Inspiron 3000's running at the moment for $320. But, as I said above, it needs to run 2 screens (a 20" BENQ and an older smaller Dell monitor) and be capable enough to encounter lots of internet tabs.
If anyone has suggestions for docks as well- that would be great. Have used Toshiba's Dynadock's in the past, but they seem a little expensive.
Thanks in advance! :D
How about picking up a 2nd hand Lenovo laptop on GraysOnline? I just took a quick look, some of them come with the docking station. The T series is a good work laptop (eg T440). The company that I work for uses Lenovo laptops, everyone runs dual screens connected to the docking stations.
If you could score one for under $400 and then throw in a $100 SSD, you'd have a nice machine.
