At that price, probably try get a second hand one off gumtree.

However you might struggle to find something with battery that will last through a school day.

    • Thanks, I can always sit in the corner charging it lol

    • Cheers for the links, I'll have a look around

  • Look for a second hand on Gumtree as per previous poster.

Btw from @Decat, the 1st is a netbook and very slow,10" screen no DVD rom, the second is a Core 2 duo (6 years old) and the third Toshiba is problematic and I would steer away from them all. Office 2016 will churn

    I would look for:

    15.4" Screen, Win 7, Core i3 1st gen, 4GB DDR3 Ram, 500GB HDD, Wifi, DVD rom

On a good day, you may get something like this for $100, however you may find that the battery is not the best, died of on its way.

    Good luck

    Cheers

    • Ok gonna look on gumtree and the link xywolap sent me

I'm probably going to fix up and sell off the second hand, backup laptop (same bar bigger RAM as my current laptop). Don't know if I'd do $100 or abit more, but it would do all the things you want. If your Perth based that is.

    • I am perth based even south of the river

      • same here if your still looking for a laptop so long since you first posted…

  • see if u have any family or friends that can sells theirs to u

  • Good luck on Gumtree.

Gee wow he only asks when it needs to be the best @ x price. Go use Google and hey it's free.

    • Does this place ship?

      They do its just expensive

Their shipping is not expensive. Where did you get that opinion?

        • On the freight option, it said $50 shipping to perth

        • @Lockster:
Perth is a long way from Canberra so would expect that. East coast freight is very cheap from allbids.
Look for ex govt computer auctions around your area… should be some there?

          @xywolap: ok i will

  • very difficult as the base components in the laptop are worth more than $100

eg. i got the shell of a laptop for free, I work in IT so I was asked to clean up some old hardware.

    I put in ram, 2 x 2Gb 4Gb which I had lying around, that's $25? I put in a spare 120Gb SSD, that's $60? The charger was my $25 multivolt generic.

I put on Win7 by my special method (so free). New battery so it lasts 3-4hrs or so is $40 at least.

Even if you're in IT its not cheap.

    • So how much are you looking for? And what's the CPU for it? Cheers

  • I've got a Core2Duo 2.16ghz (T6600, Nvidia G105, 4G RAM, 250GB 7200RPM) Acer laptop that I'd sell for $100, but I'm in Syd and postage will not be cheap nor easy

    • Thanks for the offer but postage is the killer cheers anyway
