That depends on the store. I was at the Preston store the other week and they weren't short dated there.

All the same price. That's my point. Hunt around for a non-short dated one.
Not a bad price at all if you're ok with the BB date.
Dans are also selling it for $48.95 due to the same BB date, however I ordered mine online and got lucky as I got one with a BB date of Sept 2017, so whilst it is $8.95 more you're more than likely going to get a longer dated product. Combine that with 3.5% CR and 5% off WISH gift cards, I paid around $44.
Regular price is around $60. $57 at Liquorland at the moment.
Note if you haven't tried this, it's not an actual ale, they're just calling it that
