Hey guys, first time poster here.
Similar to the recent OzSale, Deals Direct is also doing a deal for unboxed Microsoft Xbox One Wireless controllers for $39. Hope someone finds it useful.
Cheers.

Plug any compatible headset into the standard 3.5mm stereo headset jack.
They price matching this deal for some reason? www.ozbargain.com.au/node/293452
Except this deal you have to pay postage.

Errmmmm… Why bother posting this deal, when the Ozsale one is still running and is quite a lot cheaper?
BTW - the webpages are pretty much identical, so I would say it's the same deal anyway.
Expect a possible long wait - some people bought the elite controller from Deals Direct in January and still haven't received them (not me, I bought from OO and same thing) - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288311
I also bought an Elite from Ozsale FYI. It came faulty out of the box and was returned. I'm starting to think I'm never going to own one.
Must have 'fallen off' from a very big truck. LOL.
Ozsale owns deals direct, topbuy and oo.com.au
They bought the online buisness from grays online
Delivery is $9.95.
Can you use these on PC?
Read the other thread with better price
The answer is YES.
You can plug in using MicroUSB, and use it wired.
You buy additional Receiver (about $30) and can run 4 controllers wireless.
To be honest, I'm not really sure why this question comes up, when I thought it was common knowledge.
Microsoft sells the same product (wireless controller) in a variety of different packages / configurations.
a) Xbox One Wireless Controller ==> The wireless controller only << THIS DEAL
b) Xbox One Wireless Controller + Wireless Adaptor ==> incl. USB Receiver for PC)
c) Xbox One Wireless Controller + Play & Charge Kit ==> incl. rechargeable battery + cable)
d) Xbox One Wired Controller + Cable for Windows ==> wireless controller + cable)
And then to convert between them:
e) Xbox One Play & Charge Kit ==> converts a) b) or d) from 2 x AA to rechargeable
f) Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows ==> allows FOUR x a) c) or d) be wireless on one PC
So, to play wireless on a PC you need one receiver. You can buy separate or buy 1 x b)
To play wired on PC you buy d), or use your own MicroUSB cable with a) or c) or d)
A) well explained but c) f**k me
c) is because it allows them to keep controller price lower.
The performance is better using AA Alkalines than rechargable. In other words, Alkaline gives the best playing time.
Next best is the play and change kit which connects internally, and sets the correct battery capacity gauge. The controller also charges the battery (you leave it plugged in with console on standby).
If you use AA NiMH like Eneloops, the full capacity doesn't get utilized as the controller is looking for 1.5V per cell and calls a 1.2V cell "flat". So, whilst they work with Eneloops, your play time is low and you are continually swapping out and recharging separately.
The genuine MS Play and Charge kit is definitely worth the money, but most people (like my family) have gone back to Alkalines due to the better overall experience.
You can with a USB cable or the PC wireless adapter, as this isn't the bluetooth model.
And just to confirm… The Xbox One controllers are ALL the same and they are ALL wireless.
- All that is changing here is the packaged accessory.
However there are THREE generations of Xbox One Controllers…
1) Xbox One Original = Wireless, no 3.5mm headphone jack
2) Xbox One 3.5mm = Wireless, with 3.5mm headphone jack
3) Xbox One S = Wireless AND Bluetooth, with 3.5mm headphone jack
Type 1) is incredibly old, and you need a special adaptor to use headset.
Type 2) is this deal, and what almost everybody already owns.
Type 3) allows you to use it on PC, Android etc using Bluetooth without any adaptor.
Is there an Xbox Elite 's' controller (that is, one with Bluetooth)?
Or is the only version of that the one compatible with the play + charge kit etc?
You can but you'd be better off with the Xbox S controller with bluetooth
Sorry OP, but nobody else is calling it… I have to Neg you.
Exactly the same item is available from sister company OzSale for $39 Free delivery
That deal is about $10 CHEAPER because this one is + $9.95 postage and the other deal is FREE postage.
You even mentioned the OzSale deal in the OP, so you knew about it and still posted a more expensive deal.
Let's hope those upvoted this deal didn't actually buy one for $10 more than the other deal.
It stuns me that it's getting Pos votes, and also stuns me that the mods haven't removed it.
Have to agree, no deal here!

If you're paying more then it's a no go.
Note also that these are very old stock - "Generation One" with no 3.5mm headphone jack, and the poor quality bumper buttons.
Pity :)

Is this the newer version with the 3.5mm jack?
Good deal even if it isn't.
