eBay "Top Rated" Seller Qualification A Bit Steep?

IMO having this as a qualification is too strict as 3 times recently I've found deals that I cannot post due to this reason. The sellers however have 1000's of transactions and 99+ etc.

Would it be a better idea to restrict by minimum transactions no./feedback score? I'm sure this has been looked at already but I just wanted to point it out.

Thanks to Ozbargain!

god no dont want a flood of ebay "deals" on here.

  • hell no

  • Our current rule states the eBay seller must be a top rated seller, however there is an exception if they have an online store. Would the later apply to any items you looked at posting? If so, just put the domain in the 'alternate store' field when pasting the eBay link in and it will remove that warning about not being a top rated seller after a few seconds or so.

If you had the 3 examples of things you wanted to post that would be handy to see what the issue was with and if they could be posted by filling out the alternate store field.

    Guidelines

regular users are able to post deals only if the seller is a Top Rated Seller, or if the seller has an online store domain.

I notice the posting block only mentions top rated seller when you go to submit an eBay.com.au deal, I'll add something about 'online store' tomorrow also to make that clear.

  • post the deals on the forum instead?
is that allowed? I figure it's similar to the small quantity or pricing error deals where availability is the issue.

  • it's not hard to get 'top rated seller' rating. I'd expect that as a requirement, even as a seller myself (of my old crap).

    • The qualifications to get "Top Rated Seller" status aren't what you might assume lol.
