Which Chinese Brand Tablet Is Best Bang for Buck?

Looking at getting a 10-12" tablet for the lovely Mrs Wampus. The best bang for buck seems to be the stuff they sell on Gearbest etc, like the Chuwis and Cubes.

Anybody had any experience or got any guidance? Nice screen, easy to use, English out of the box, quite responsive are the main things she's looking for with it. Nothing heavier usage wise than browsing forums, watching/casting videos etc.

Thanks!

Get an android version of Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 :) 64GB preferably as they dont have Micro SD support.

    Chuwi, Cube.

Xiaomi seem to be trying to price themselves according to "traditional" Western brands such as Samsung, Microsoft etc.

    • I have a Chuwi Hi8 and it is the most useless heap of junk I've ever bought. Constantly blue screening, terrible accuracy on touch screen, etc. While cheap, it isn't worth it. Would not recommend. Steer clear.

    https://techtablets.com is a site I found useful.

I had narrowed it down to Cube iWork 10 ultimate (although the most recent version seems to be a step backwards in speed and stability), or the Chuwi hi10 plus. But still looking at alternatives like teclast x98 and Chuwi hibook pro.

Would definitely be interested in anyone with hands on experience with any of these.

  • The Chuwi range seems pretty good on paper. Heard mixed reports about Teclast but nothing first hand..

  • Recommend Xiaomi brand.

  • Had my Chuwi Hi8 for almost 2 years now - still going strong

  • I ended up getting a ChuWi Hi10 Pro, they're available from Zapals for a bit over $200 AU at the moment…
