  • Thank you for building NSW.

  • Was thinking this would make a good HTPC… but there's no HDMI.

    • +1

Time to get a DP or VGA to HDMI adapter. The latter is quite cheap.

      • True. I've bought a few for work before. Little box, powered by USB, and you plug the 3.5mm audio cable into it.

But this looks like a better deal if you want to just play videos and listen to music: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/292718

Would also be good for Steam Home Streaming too.

Downside of that HP I posted is that it's not as upgradable as this one. E.g. CPU, RAM and PCIe slots.

  • it's better than this deal, need more upvotes https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/292425

    • But is it really?
i3 vs i5 the i3 is newer but it should still be worse than an i5
4GB RAM vs 8GB RAM, probably this is DDR4 and the other DDR3 but still double RAM. These SFF PC usually have 2 RAM slots, I would rather get the bigger RAM.
      500GB HDD vs 1TB HDD
this one has better integrated graphics
Windows Pro vs Windows Home, this wins
      Monitor vs no monitor.
      100 AUD more.

It is an interesting comparison, but it is just different.

      • Well in my opinion ram and hdd are cheap to upgrade, i3 vs behind 2 years old i5 is debatable. Things are this one has newer technology and has a 22" for an extra 100 bucks is a plus

        • This is a 1.5 year old CPU vs a 2.75 year old CPU. None of them are last gen tech. 4 cores vs 2 cores + 2 threads.

RAM is 50 AUD extra, HDD lets say it is not really important they both need an SSD anyway. For me Windows to be honest is more important but not for anybody else. 22'' monitor is kind of small anyway, I would think this is actually the difference. If you have a monitor at home I would go for the other one, if I would have no monitor I would go for this one.

  • Looks like 1x Display Port?
