Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive 3.5" for $69.95 + shipping.

40

Special promotion for today. I think this is really a F3, despite the confusion on the product page.
When the previous offer occurred, ( http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/26228 )it appeared it was confirmed to be an F3 - why they haven't fixed the page I don't know!!!
Shipping is a bit high, but combined cost is still very competitive, and is unbeatable if you want one delivered!

edit: changed title. Shipping to most states seemed to be $18 this time.
Also my invoice states: Samsung 1TB HD103SJ HDD - 32MB Cache - 1,000GB SATA II 7200rpm, 3.0Gbps, 3-year warranty HARD DISK DRIVE
So definitely F3.

  • I think you should said $69.95 + postage.

  • completely agree… reading the title makes it appear as if its free shipping in my eyes. it looks like shipping cost may be same for all but safer/easier to say "$69.95 + shipping"

    • Ok, done!

BTW I did check, and unlike the last offer the shipping is a flat rate.

$18 shipping? Damn SSQ, you've ruined it again.

    • While it's not a super bargain, if you after a drive now, you won't find a better price unless you live next door to a handful of stores in Melbourne or Sydney.

Don't you think the "Save: $199.05(74%)" is a bit over hyped there. LOL

    • It's SQ's typical tactics. The original RRP vs their sale price would give the impression that "wow, bloody cheap".

      They ignoring the fact that
1 - The RRP was long time ago and price drop with time. Check SI, you will see it only under $100 from other places.
2 - No one (unless it's one of the big chains like Harvey Norman etc) can sell with RRP. They have to drop it at least 10-20% to be competitive with others.

  • Is this really an F3 drive?? the model number is HDD-SAM-HD103UJ where as the ine in my pc is HDD-SAM-HD103SJ, is it just a newer F3 drive model?

Edit , I just found out this is the F1 drive on google :( Not the F3

  • the shipping cost kills this deal!!!!!

  • I guess it's good for anyone still holding onto their vouchers from that earlier debacle, like me lol

But in all seriousness, a friend of mine bought an SD card from them 3 weeks ago, and it still hasn't been delivered. The FAQ on their website says that each item they send has its own tracking number, but when he paid for it, the email he received didn't contain a number. After he emailed them, they said that the tracking number couldn't be used on the Auspost website. So presumedly, this "tracking number" is for use within the shoppingsquare website(?), since they also told him that the item was sent via general post in an ordinary envelope. So he informed them that he hadn't received the item, and they sent him a form which he had to fill out. He still hasn't received the card yet.

With that in mind, I'm not sure I want to entrust them with $70…

  • Yes, but $18 shipping? I could buy this from Taiwan for cheaper.

This is a scam. They could ship the drive for less than $5 - meaning that the drive actually costs nearly $82.

  • Yeah good ol' Shopping Square always a huge rip with postage..
    Why??
