Coopers Summer Legends 24x 355ml - $29.90 @ Dan Murphy's

1280

Found this on Dan Murphy's website. Went in store and it was ~$45. They really didn't want to give it to me for $29.90, even after I showed them the website. Not a bad beer for the price.

  • Must only be some stores, showing $47.99 at my local

  • +1

    Just ordered. Thanks OP

  • +2

    $41.95 in SA.

  • +10

The photo makes the cans look bigger than a standard 375mL, but they are the smaller 355mL.
    This equates to $31.58 for 24 x 375mL.
    Alcohol Volume - 4.2%

Also noticed this one in big cans -
Coopers Dr Tim's Traditional Ale Cans 440mL $47.99
    This equates to $40.90 for 24 x 375mL.
    Alcohol Volume - 4.5%

    Dr. Tims great beer.

    • +3

Never tried it, but the reviews say it's basically Coopers Pale Ale in a can.

      • +3

        Yeah reviews would be right.

        • So keep it upright in the fridge & pour into a cold glass in one pour if you don't like your beer cloudy from the yeast.

  • Thanks…maybe it's a Vic/Melbourne deal?
with CR & wishcards comes down ~$27
    I'll drink to that

    • $29.90 in the ACT, so I'd imagine NSW wide also?

  • +2

Showing as $29.90 here in WA too.

  • Coopers. $29.90. Can't go too wrong.

Bought me a case to give it a try.

  • Is it short dated?

    • Hopefully not. Just an end of line clearance:

To celebrate and provide tennis lovers taste of tennis ahead of January, a limited edition new beer is being launched to celebrate an Australian family brewerys sponsorship of the Australian Open.

    • +1

I will check mine when I get home and let you know.

      • +2

        Mine is 10th of July.

    • I thought Cooper's don't have an expiry date.

      • +1

Coopers Pale Ale and Sparkling Ale don't as they are bottled conditioned. I don't know about this lager though.

  • Thanks OP. Got it with Wish eGift Card and Cashrewards to click and collect at a QLD store. Also checked Coffs Harbour store where it's available to click and collect from the 25th of Feb.

  • Showing as $30 @ BWS but reverts to $37 in cart. If you value cash rewards $27.60 v $29.00.

    • I've emailed BWS so hopefully the issue gets fixed.

      • Apparently it's a Woolworths rewards offer, I was logged in and it still wasn't working.

  • Thanks OP, just ordered one. Was available for pick-up in Brisbane north.

Great price, but has anyone tasted it? This from the Dan Murphy's website worries me:

… combined with freshly cut lime and citrus notes

I'm not a big fan of citrus in beer.

  • dan murphy's website looking a bit messed up for me atm. anyone else having the same problem?

    • No problems here. Chrome on Win 10.

  • +1

Went into bicton store, WA. Tag said $45 but it scanned in at $29. The website also says $29. Had to wait for the guy to retrieve me a carton.

  • Thanks. Got a slab

    • It's not bad cold

  • +2

Can you please drink 6 of them
and tell me whether it's still drinkable

    • sometimes i think the same, yet i still purchase the bloody thing.

    • +5

After 6 beers, who cares what they taste like

    • It's basically alcoholic soda water so 6 shouldn't be a problem

  • Just got a box to try, ticket say $45 after scan got for 29.99

  • Just bought one, looks like no one's had a try yet so bit of a lottery but Coopers at $29.90 surely can't be too bad of a buy.

  • went dan murphys in colyton nsw the price tag said 39.90 but scanned at 29.90 no issues

  • Still waiting for my 5% off wish card to be emailed. Hopefully once it arrives someone can tell me whether they can handle smashing 6 or more in a row without needing a mylanta chaser

  • Bought one case. Thanks OP.

  • Certainly a summer type beer..very easy drinking when i had a sixer for $10 a while ago. Not sure I'd get it again tho.

So this price us pretty good value!

  • Just bought a slab as well. Thanks OP.

  • +3

Bought 3. It's a decent beer, and great for this price, although the skinny cans are annoying - don't fit tight in a stubby cooler.

  • One of the worst beers I've ever tasted, nothing like a summer beer at all.

  • +1

What does this actually taste like? Is it a radler? I'm attracted that it's Coopers but it obviously hasn't been as popular as predicted so scared off simultaneously. What is it similar to?

    • -1

Tastes like cheap beer mixed with soda water… Horrible stuff.

  • How's the taste, mouthfeel and aftertaste?

    • +1

American style - weak and noncommittal in taste. Might be good to take camping.

  • +1

Bought a carton yesterday and have had a couple of them.

Certainly not like the usual coopers I drink (green/orange bottle) - much lighter flavour. If you're into coopers' other beer then this may be a disappointment as it's nothing like it. However if you're after something light and easy drinking it's good value.

  • $30 is really cheap, but I won't buy it and encourage Coopers to make such a monstrosity.
Better off adding $9.15 for the Hoegarden

  • BB: July 2017

  • The skinny cans would be great for someone with small hands..

  • thanks op - great bargain!

  • Thanks OP, just did a click and collect from the Eltham store.

  • doesn't taste like a coopers in my opinion - bit tasteless - even coopers lite tastes better than this

  • tried some last night, at $29 I will take this over VB, XXXX, Carlton anytime…
