Unless you provide details of said earring and necklace set, there is no way this qualifies as a deal. Who decided they are valued at $20 and if so why are you not selling them for $20 on your site? This is advertising.

    • +1

Hi. I did put a reply but accidentally put it as a "new comment". See below.

  • +2

This website is designed to be for sarees only but chokers are also sold on this website. We also sell fashion jewellery via a mobile stall from time to time, but not via a website. The set provided is valued at $20 because that is what we sell it for at our stall. It IS a deal as the earring and necklace set is otherwise not provided with saree purchases.

  • +1

    No deal, it's just advertising.

  • What percentage silk is this item please?
    http://simplysarees.com.au/product/feather-soft-cotton-silk-…

    • I do not know what the percentage silk is for this saree. We buy from the wholesaler and the only information that they have supplied to us is "Feather Soft Cotton Silk Saree". The manufacturer is Aura Sarees. You would need to make a direct enquiry with them as to the breakdown of fabrics in this saree.

      • +1

        https://www.aurastudio.in/jasnam.html
They describe the product as Superfine Cotton Blended. The word silk is not there.

        • Hehehe. You are obviously an amateur when it comes to sarees. Do you not understand the meaning of the word "blended"? Why don't you do proper research and ask them what it is blended with.

Go and have a look for that same saree on other saree sites and you will see it described as a "silk blend" or "cotton silk" saree. For example, if you go to SVTSilks website they describe the saree as Pure Cotton Silk.

I don't make up the descriptions, they are supplied to us by the wholesalers.

        • @xxxozbargain:

I don't make up the descriptions, they are supplied to us by the wholesalers.

They are your descriptions on your website. You may as well own them.

        • -1

They are not my descriptions. All descriptions are supplied by the wholesaler.

        • +1

@xxxozbargain: It is not your wholesaler's website. You are responsible for what you tell your prospective customers.

        • Correct. And the description is correct.

        • @xxxozbargain: And prospective customers like to know what they are getting. Therefore my simple mind asked about the silk percentage, which is very basic information in the clothing trade. Just because you told your wholesaler "take my money but don't specify the fabric composition" does not oblige your fellow members of OzBargain to do likewise.

        • You shouldn't believe everything that people tell you. Ultimately the onus is on you to ascertain the facts for yourself and come to your own decision. You can't play the fool with me.

Once again you show you are of simple mind. You need to have the ability to do more complex analysis if you want your comments to stand up.

Firstly the deal is for a free gift with purchase of a saree, the deal is not for a cheap or discounted saree.

Secondly you need to compare apples with apples. I can buy thousands of different items on eBay much cheaper from overseas based businesses that I can buy from an Australian-based business. For example, I can buy a USB cable for $1 on eBay which includes delivery, but you can't get it for that price from an Australian based business. The cost of doing business in Australia is more than in most other countries, and many times more than in comparison to a third word country.

If you do a fair comparison of our prices with Australian-based businesses you will find us to be amongst the cheapest and we provide the fastest delivery. We also offer other services that you won't get from an overseas-based business which I'm not going to go into.

Before posting half-baked comments - do some proper research!

Mate… You're both an idiot and a d1ck head. Strong combo.

You sell sarees for a living and don't know your product composition.

I'm an amateur at sarees too, but you're failing to educate me about your own product.

Ultimately, you're bad at what you do for a living. Well done.

        • -3

Haha. I am very good at what I do for a living. I sell saree's for a hobby, not a living. As for any consumer product you need to do your own research prior to purchase. If you don't understand anything or need more information all you need to do is ask. I will answer all questions to the best of my ability.

        • +1

          @xxxozbargain:
With this attitude, I don't think you are good at what you do for a living. You are not even sure of what you are selling judging by your comments. Please learn how to deal with your potential customers properly

          3. Reps shouldn't argue with shoppers as they are potential customers.

        • The quality of your contributions are falling even lower.

        • @xxxozbargain: Just keep teaching us not to purchase from you. I guarantee your success at that. I started with a simple fabric inquiry which didn't seem such a big ask.

        • Yes, it's not a big ask for you to phone the manufacturer.

        • @xxxozbargain: That is your own responsibility, not mine, because fabric composition is very basic information in your trade and for some reason you didn't know it. I found an alternative vendor offering exactly the same item stating it is cotton.

        • Excellent news.

      • +1

You are very rude for a store rep & you might want to rethink your approach to how to communicate to customers. And offering an item for free that you don't sell on your website, means no one would pay $20 for it, otherwise you would be selling it, meaning its a cheap 10 cent job from Alibaba. The lack of positive votes are a clear indication of what people think of your bargain, they wouldn't even waste 1 second hitting the positive vote button.

        • -3

We hand make all our jewellery. We only sell jewellery at stalls because it is not viable to sell that jewelry on a website as Australia Post costs are prohibitive. There's no way we can compete with overseas producers like China on postage.

I'm not rude. People (like yourself) selectively find a piece of information and make a comment on it without understanding the context in which they are using it. I just tell it as it is. If you don't like my honesty then go away.

Why not put your bias aside

I courteously inquired the silk percentage.

          Please start your research now.

I cannot because I am of simple mind. But I know which one of us is trying to sell sarees, and you cannot be bothered to determine their fabric composition.

        • -1

You state that you come here for bargains. I see that you keep returning to my deal so it must be a very good bargain.

Yes, you did courteously ask for the percentage silk. I courteously told you that I do not know the percentage silk and referred you on to the manufacturer. You then did a half-baked cut and paste job and came to the conclusion that there is no silk in the saree even though the manufacturer's descriptions said that it was blended Cotton. You were negligent in not finding out what was meant by Blended, and hence making the false accusation that the saree contained no silk.

Correct, I am not your mum so I am not going to find out the composition of this saree. I have referred you to the manufacturer who is the ultimate authority on the composition of this saree and they will be able to supply you with the information you are looking for.

I see you have come up with a new concept which sounds very stupid. Now the seller has to look for the quotes but not the buyer. In that case the seller will always say his product is the best and the cheapest. Good luck to you if you want to use such a strategy.

        • @xxxozbargain:

I see that you keep returning to my deal so it must be a very good bargain.

Are you sure about that? Just 1 plus-vote; none for 30 hours. That is far more eloquent than anything I type.

Correct, I am not your mum so I am not going to find out the composition of this saree.

My Mum is a very stubborn lady. She absolutely insists on remaining dead. However, you are the vendor and the onus is upon you to provide correct information concerning your wares.

the seller will always say his product is the best and the cheapest.

That wouldn't make it true because $182.40 is a bigger number than $77.70. Do you see how that works?

        • You said yourself you come here for bargains. And you seem to keep coming back.

As I said previously, my supplier says that the sarees contain silk and the VP Silks website (web link previously supplied) says it contains silk.

Correct, in my case it would not make it true because I never said I was the cheapest or the best.

        • @xxxozbargain:

As I said previously, my supplier says that the sarees contain silk and the VP Silks website (web link previously supplied) says it contains silk.

How do you actually know the fabric contains silk?

You shouldn't believe everything that people tell you.

        • Exactly!

  • +1

Go and have a look for that same saree on other saree sites and you will see it described as a "silk blend" or "cotton silk" saree.

    http://suganyasarees.com/products/aura-jasnam-fancy-cotton-s…
Undeniably identical to the photo on your website. It says neither 'silk' nor 'blend'.

    • Exactly what I said. Different websites have different descriptions. Thank you for proving my statement.

      • It unambiguously states cotton, not blend or blended or cotton silk. It is my amateur simple mind's understanding that cotton silk fetches a higher price than cotton. Your website is proving my statement.

        • If you find conflicting descriptions on different websites then you should contact the manufacturer directly.

        • @xxxozbargain: I asked you because you are the vendor and I mistakenly assumed you would be helpful. Experience is teaching me otherwise.

        • I was helpful but you do not want to help yourself. I can only lead the horse to water.

        • @xxxozbargain: This thread is peppered with examples of you being less than helpful. Your manifest inability to manage a simple inquiry with any sense of propriety is not at all encouraging.

        • As I said, I can only lead the horse to water.

        • @xxxozbargain: Horses don't buy gifts.

        • Silly comment noted.

    • If you find conflicting descriptions then it is best for you to make a phone call to the manufacturer and settle the matter if this issue is of critical importance to you.

      • If you are getting asked about fabric composition the onus is upon yourself, the stockist, not the prospective customer, to get the information.

        • The onus is not on me to give you the answer. My job is to point you in the correct direction where you can find the answer that you are looking for. Then it is up to you if you want to make the effort to find out what the answer is.

        • @xxxozbargain: Incorrect, especially when selling something on OzBargain, which is not exactly your forte.

        • I agree. That's why you need to inform yourself before going shopping.

        • @xxxozbargain: Yes, my simple mind attempted that by asking you before placing an order. I'm sorry that wasn't good enough for you. And I won't call you Mum.

        • I said inform yourself BEFORE going shopping.

        • @cypher67: Similar indeed.

        • Some people will take you for a ride if you want to do it that way. If you want to protect yourself you should do your own independant research first.

  • +1

Why don't you do proper research and ask them what it is blended with.

Because you are the one trying to sell sarees to your fellow members of OzBargain.

I don't make up the descriptions, they are supplied to us by the wholesalers.

You are responsible for what your website tells prospective customers.

What percentage silk is this item please?
    http://simplysarees.com.au/product/feather-soft-cotton-silk-…

It was just a civil question. I'm sorry that's not good enough.

    • You did not ask a civil question. You made the false accusation that there is no silk in this saree.

As I told you I don't know what the percentage silk is. I have referred you to the manufacturer but you don't seem to have asked them the question. When you have asked them then please forward that information on to me.

      • What percentage silk is this item please?

That was indeed a courteous question which you as a vendor demonstrably failed to answer adequately. I am not obliged to research fabric composition via a manufacturer to compensate for a merchant's inefficiency.

        • It was adequately answered. You weren't interested in the answer that is what the problem was.

        • @xxxozbargain: You did not tell me the silk percentage, thus rendering your response inadequate. It is common knowledge that in the clothing industry fabric composition is very basic information, especially when items like these are not particularly inexpensive. Your website says you stock only one of each. Perhaps they are samples. Your attitude here is obviously counter-productive to effective salesmanship.

  • My response was adequate. Please refer your concerns to the manufacturer. There's no point in asking me the same questions because you will always get the same answer. Also, we do not have sample products.

  • I said inform yourself BEFORE going shopping.

You're trying to sell the item, so I asked you for information. There was no prior indication you were uninformed regarding your stock's fabric composition. I was unaware you were impervious to courtesy. Your description doesn't say you will not assist. I didn't think you'd mind I'm a saree amateur and I expected no equine analogies concerning water. My simple mind said get the facts, use PayPal. But thanks to you, I am now informed BEFORE going shopping.

    • Sorry I can assist you no further. If you are unable to understand my explanations you will need to ask someone else to read my comments and explain them to you in a way that you can understand.

      • It is already a matter of record you have been no assistance whatsoever.

I am not your mum so I am not going to find out the composition of this saree.

Your attitude here has been a useful warning.
