Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY (Origin Key) - £5 (~ $8.10 AU) (May Require VPN) @ Game.co.uk

100

This is for an Origin key, and it is the GOTY, not the base game, so it is a historical low. I haven't purchased anything from Game.co.uk before. Although VAT is mentioned in the cart, I wasn't charged any at checkout, and was able to Pay via Paypal a few minutes ago. EDIT: Code received, it took perhaps an hour to arrive after purchase.

Previously I have always been met with error messages when trying to access their site, and had to use a VPN to get their games to display (Japan, Murican, and London VPN points all worked for me). perhaps they are blocking Australia because our recidivist government is trying to extort GST from overseas companies.

As a comparison, DAO Inquisition GOTY is $20 US on Amazon currently, and that's with a 50% discount. https://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Inquisition-Game-Year-Play…

  • it came up as 8.48aud for me, what did i do wrong? (bought it because it's not too much different but just really curious)

    • I used xe.com to convert to AUD. Most banks (and PayPal) charge a 3% currency conversion fee, plus another 3% cross border fee. That would bump the price up to about $8.60. I love my 28Degrees no international fees card.

      • ahh but the OP said he paid 8.10 with paypal.. oh well. does that 28deg card cost anything?

  • Got it just for the Trespasser DLC

bought it by downloading opera browser and using its vpn in the url bar.

  • All i get is an error page :(

    • Do you have VPN on?

      • Yeh, tried tunnelbear and opera's vpn.
Did you use paypal to pay or direct with a card?

I tried both. I am unsuccessful too (see below).

I am curious if the successful people used Australian-issued cards?

I am going to try a pre-paid Visa card tomorrow.

  • No luck on my end. Using VPN in London. I log into PayPal, click Pay and then redirected to GAME with a message: "Your payment was not successful, please try again." and "Fraud failure."

    • Ultimately no luck here either.
Noticed when i go to pay with paypal it says the vendor has requested the address registered to the paypal account.
My card is australian too, wouldn't take my details unless i put a UK postcode in, then failed the same as paypal.

    • I think this merchant is very hit and miss. I used PureVPN, changed my location to Japan, created an account, logged in (the captcha was really annoying and time consuming), then added DAI to my cart, and paid for it using an Australian Paypal with a 28Degree Master Card. I didn't have any issues paying.

Without a VPN, all I get is error pages on Game.co.uk. Free VPN's are the one's that are mostly likely to be blacklisted, unofrtunately.

i bought it by using a chrome browser vpn thing called windscribe. paid using paypal with a commonwealth bank card for reference.

  • I got a UK friend to buy it for me and sent him money back via paypal since I couldn't get it to work.

  • Has anyone had luck using an Australian debit card?

  • It finally worked! I used my Commonwealth Bank's MasterCard directly on GAME (not PayPal). I got my key instantly via email.

But I don't know exactly what I've done right to pass the security checks. There are two ways:

    (a) I used Shepard's suggestion. Downloaded Windscribe VPN plugin via Chrome. I was connected to the United States. So the IP address was the issue; AND/OR

    (b) I used a fake United States billing address on GAME instead of an Australian one.
