Auspost / Courier Access to LF Letter Boxes

Occasionally I have things delivered to my home address.

I have a standard apartment letter box with an Lowe and Fletcher (LF) lock and key.

A few times i have noticed deliveries which would not normally fit into my letter box without opening have some how managed to find their way in.
I suspect the postie has an LF master key - yes they do exist ;)

Has anyone else experienced this?

I know it's a standard lock and key which is a slight deterrent for anyone wanting my mail but to know the postie can open it makes me feel uneasy.

It was a nice surprise not having to go to the Post Office though.

Some apartment letterboxes are opened through a panel from the opposite side. This way all the letterboxes are accessible at the same time and I suppose it makes it easier for them to pop items in, rather than have to shove it through one postbox at a time.

So you're worried about the person who brings the mail to the letterbox stealing the mail because they have a key to your letterbox.

    • when you put it that way…
what actually makes me feel uneasy is that something that is locked is being opened by an unauthorised person.

      • So, you don't want your mail to be delivered?

You'll find that the posties are authorized by your building management
