Download Netflix to iOS Flash Drive

I see that Apple have released a flash drive to extend storage space, not before time. Now that ypu can download from netflix to your ipad does anyone know if the downloads can be put on the flash drive? I believe you can transfer stuff from a pc but you cannot download netflix to a pc.
Thoughts please.
