AFL Boot Reccomendations

Hello

I've just started up footy again for the first time in years and have got no clue what I need to be looking for in a pair of boots.
My only advice has been to find something comfortable.
I tried on a pair of presumably older Asics and a pair of Pele's, both were quite comfy but they felt like I'd be able to roll my ankle with a small breeze. These were only $80 and $60 however.

I'd be playing ruck, don't have any issues with ankles aside a sprained ankle a year ago.
Is this a 'you get what you pay for' kind of thing, or if it's comfy and not a home brand you'll be fine.

Any recommendations on boots/where to buy would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Comfort is definitely number 1 priority.

The Higher price boots generally use leather or super light materials in making the boot, But not necessarily better comfort as all feet are different.

Definitely go out to your local DFO and head into the sports outlets, boots are generally quite cheap compared to shopping centres

Having taken my sons to buy boots this weekend, and in previous years (and they tried on just about every boot in sportsmart), it seems a lot of the difference is marketing hype - I couldn't tell the difference between some of the $250 ones and $60 ones. Although some of the really cheap $30 ones look pretty nasty. So comfort is key. One of them chose a $70 pair (Nike) and the other a $130 pair (New Balance), based purely on comfort and fit. Sportsmart had 25% off all boots on Saturday which reduced the cost further

    • Thank you, I might try on some of the really good one's just to see the difference. I was quite happy in the $60 Pele's but didn't know if there was more to it than just comfort.
I'm quite impressed your son took a pair of shoes that were $50 cheaper than his brothers!

Fluro yellow ones make you play better.

    • I go for Richmond, none of them have fluro yellow shoes….oh :(
