Cheap Freight / Parcel Delivery to USA from Australia.???

OK, so there's loads of posts on US to Australia freight, and how to avoid the non-USA-address issue, but what about the cost of sending stuff the other way…from Oz to USA…??

I need to send a cuppla shirts to a mate in the USA and AusPOST wants $41 for an International Parcel (Medium) pre-paid satchel for items 500g-1kg.

Does anyone have any actual experience using a different service that is competitive with AusPOSTs rates for small light weight items?

Pleas note: I am not interested in rants against AusPOST. We all know they're crap. Only interested in ACTUAL alternatives people have actually used, not "hypotheticals"…

Tx

  • Try something like transdirect.com.au, they will give you quotes across a few companies and most of the time it's cheaper+faster+tracked vs Auspost

It doesn't hurt to be friendly when asking for advice. Just saying.

  • Perhaps you provide the actual weight and measurement then I can help.

  • This is what happens when you build a wall.
No cheap shirts or labour from Mexico.

  • Small international packages are never cheap. I remember it costing about $70 to send an A4 envelope to the UAE with DHL on account… I think you're gonna have a bad time seeking cheap international small package freight rates.

    • For this one I believe AusPost has prepaid express international for A4 at around $15 anywhere in the world.

      • Fairly sure DHL was like overnight/2 day kinda stuff (twas the cheapest that they offered). It was also a tough A4 envelope not just a regular envelope. The docs were too important to send via auspost to be honest haha
