I have always been able to use gift cards such as these with Dimmi vouchers and/or Entertainment Book offers given that a gift card is a form of EFTPOS payment whereas a discount card/coupon/booking is a sales offer/promotion :)

They are an eftpos card, but can only be used at "eateries" where Good Food Gift cards are accepted.
What Tonester is talking about is stacking discounts…….which is problematic at SOME restaurants, due to:
- Restaurants are issued invoices (by the gift card company) each period which lists all transactions using the card.
- They pay an agreed service fee, which has been previously mentioned by some at up to 30% of the transaction amount. IMO this is ridiculously high, but that's what some say…
- The quoted conditions on using the card are: "Good Food Gift Cards cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer unless otherwise advised by the individual restaurant."
- On the basis of halving the bill if a 2 for 1 EB voucher is used, then paying say a service fee of 30% all they are getting is getting paid a third of the original bill
So, on the basis of the Conditions of use, some restaurants will only accept either an EB voucher or a gift card, not both.
Gets more confusing and problematic if somebody uses DIMMI or Qantas to book, produces a 2 for 1 EB voucher and then pays on a GFGC….wowee, that's why we pay so much when the locally owned restaurant gets rippped off so much by unrelated third parties who don't even get burnt by a hot pan cooking our food……Note: I am still one for maximising discounts, but there is a point where enough is enough.
Thus queue extreme customer unhappiness when expected heavily discounted meal is only half price :)
OK thank you.
I was thinking I could use it as eftpos card for general grocery shopping and got very excited!!!
Beware that gift cards expire 12 months after issue.
I assume that there is no way to use these cards other than the restaurants on the list. Or even cashing them out unless you are a restaunrt manager or owner!
Even if that were possible, I'd imagine there might be possible GST/tax implications of doing that

As a person who has never used one of these before, are you saying that these are the same as eftpos cards?
ie can use them at the supermarket??????
