We bought one recently (Bosch WAE20260AU) and there seemed to be a lot of machines advertised close to the $500 mark. We actually wanted the model up (the lower model Bosch was advertised at $599) so went into the store and asked what they could do the higher model for. Ended up paying $750.
I think the retail market is pretty flat at the moment and stores like Good Guys, Retravision and Harvey Norman can do deals.
Check out appliancesonline.com.au for a price guide for what you want and try to get them to beat that.
