we need montymelb to give us the good prices again

  • U can get the a119s for similar pricing

    • I had a bit of a look but I couldn't find anything below $145 really, do you know of any deals available?

      • I got it off ebay and used one of the ebay coupons. Paid about $120 for it.

  • -1

Not quite a deal - I bought mine a month ago for less than $100.

The cam itself is not bad

    • +4

That would have been the unit without GPS on the Everybuying deal. The unit with GPS via that deal
was 78.35USD, so only 51c US cheaper than this. At this point in time, however, this is the cheapest price I could find. If anyone can find it cheaper please let us know.

Personal experience opinion don't buy this when using GPS mount the 4 pins on the back of the camera that touch against the GPS mount don't provide a solid connection and was causing a flickering recording and also turning the camera on and off buy it self had to go thru hell and back with seller and eventually claimed thru PayPal avoid the hassle and grab a local warranty brand name but end of the day each to there own

I've found if you plug the power into the dashcam instead of the GPS the problem is solved.

      • +2

Then no point in buying GPS cam and paying extra for it

    • Tried to edit but not working so

Yeah I've had the same experience. Have had about 10 or so dashcams now dating years back and most of those were duds which made them a pain to send back etc. Easier to bin them. Buy local and a quality one for peace of mind!

The fix for me is very simple, unscrew it open and replug in the tiny ribbon cable that connects the 4 pin plate to the camera. Combination of heat and car vibrations probably made it loose, and it resets itself because not enough power is flowing through.

      • I appreciate the insider trick fix but I shouldn't have to pay for something then fix it to do the job it was made to do in the first place

        • +3

Well you can have that opinion, and that's what happens when you pay for Chinese unbranded things, especially when you are going to be relying on it it's a recipe for a disastrous experience. For me I'd rather not pay 3 times the amount for the same features just to avoid a 5 minute unskilled repair job.

        • @plmko:most people don't have the time or the "skill" do deal with this rubbish that's why they should avoid it so they don't regret it when it one day misses recording the event it was purchased for

        • +2

          @ABUKEE:

What skill is there to unscrew 4 screws and plug in a cable?

Like I said I'd rather not pay 3 times more, but you seem happy to. So each to their own.

        • @plmko: what are you talking about I got a blackvue for $180 delivered from spares box eBay store with this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/290526

    • I have been using this dashcam with GPS mount with power fed directly into GPS and have had no flickering issues. The only time some flickering happened (initially) was when one of the wires weren't securely grounded. I have this hardwired to the internal fuse box and once that was fixed, it hasn't missed a beat! It's a top camera for the money

  • I had to turn off the lane assistance, it kept beeping non stop!

  • Checkout in AUD with the link provided and it's cheaper than suggested:
    Grand Total AU$102.40
when selecting standard non tracked shipping.

I have a hard-wired 3G (upload to website) GPS tracking unit, other than a speed display on the video (which I might not want), would the GPS function on the dashcam provide any befits?

    • It keeps the clock up to date too… :)

    • Which 3G GPS tracker do you have? I've been looking for one.

      • Hard wired:
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/262745785716
Works perfect, get a ping every 30 seconds even when out of mobile range for days, helpful ebay vendor.

        OBD plugin:
        http://www.ulbotech.com/products/t373b#.WKBTYTt97AQ
OBD has more functions including tracking car diagnostics, helpful vendor but more expensive to order a single unit direct from China.

Both work fine with $5 Aldi SIM and tracking via Traccar website.

        • How long does the Sim credit last when used in this application?

        • +1

          @Steptoe:
I put in a new Aldi SIM in Jan, last I checked out had used 31c of my $5 credit. That is with updates every 30 sec.

        • @Wolfy:
So just ditch it rather than recharge if $5 lasts the year.

        • +1

          @Steptoe:
At this stage, that would appear to the cheapest option.

        • @Wolfy:
          Should've stocked up @$1

  • What are the shipping times on these? Are they sent from Australia or their over seas sites?

  • I want a deal on gitup git 2 pro. Can zapals do that.

  • Just ordered 1. Great price. Link mentions it includes a 64gb microsd card, lets hope they honour that :)

    • Don't worry, I read below.

  • Great timing. Just had my order canceled by GearBest because I failed their BS CC verification exercise. Happy to go elsewhere, especially after the nightmares I've heard about their shipping practices.

  • Just ordered one of these from Zapals. It does mention it comes with a 64gb so hopefully it does. Can anyone confirm if they got the microsd?

  • Not looking good so far. Their website said processing time was 2-3 days. It has been over a week. I asked them what was going on, this was the reply:

We sincerely apologize for the delay in shipping due to (peak season, low inventory, etc).

We will ship your order shortly and send you the tracking information via email after shipment.

    Apologize again for this delay.

Please free to contact us if any helps needed.

First experience with Zapals, their response was incredibly vague. Lets hope it comes through

  • hmmm not looking good here either…

    "

  • Mine was processing for about a week and a half.. finally got a email saying it was shipped just now, Ive also just re-checked the ad, the 64gb micro sd is now gone, so I dont hold my breath on receiving that

  • I received mine today. It came with a 64gb Samsung microSDXC which was a pleasant surprise.
28 Degrees credit card was charged $103.40(including the $6.86US shipping charge), which would make it the cheapest price by far (after factoring in the card) I've seen for this unit.

    • Yup, a friend received his yesterday which also came with the SD card. I bought mine on the deal before, so a bit annoyed!

    • How long did it take from ordering to getting the package?

I saved the page where it says it comes with a 64gb so hopefully they honour it.

They sent me an aust post tracking number which has no information. Not happy with Zapals

      • Ordered on 11/2, received 1/3

      • They finally got back to me. I have a tracking number but so far seems useless.

        Processing
Shipping information approved by Australia Post We've approved the shipping details for this parcel.

It doesn't say where but can only assume its at customs at the moment

  • Mine arrived today. No microsd card despite the website advertising it. I still would have bought it at this price anyway so its not a big deal but will chase it up with zapals anyway

    • Have they responded?

They haven't got back to me about the microsd. I received the camera yesterday.

      • so no microsd card for you? They are looking into it apparently

        • Nope, no Micro SD.

I sent them an message and they still haven't got back to me.

Zapals is dodgy as. Never buying from them again that's for sure
