Calls from "Secure Australia" with a Offer for a in-Home Consultation for retirement/debt consolidation/tax minimisation

As the title says.

After a couple of calls during work hours, I decided to have a quick look to see if this might be legit but couldn't find a thing about it online. The caller was clearly reading from a script, offering a free in home consultation with a representative, if I'm eligible for this government approved scheme. When asked for a website or any online material she gave me secureaustralia.net, which seems to point towards online/phone marketing mob, as far as I can tell.
She was claiming that the Australian government has approved a scheme where working home owners can use up to 50% of payable income tax to go towards the mortgage/retirement planing or investments. When asked for any proof or government website stating this, she refused to provide any information, I mean like "I can't provide that information with out a consultant coming over to discuss with you" which was very alarming considering she knew my name and the Mrs's name with out me saying a word. I don't even give out that sort of information when a bank calls me and asks to confirm my details for security, I always ask that I call them back on the banks general publicly available contact number!

Has anyone received a call from this mob?
Scam? should I report to scamwatch? the call wasn't from a blocked number.
Anyone with better financial savvy than myself, is there such a scheme in Victoria thats actually approved by the ATO?

I'm also on the do not call register, the nerve on this mob!!

Thanks folks!! Happy Friday!!

It's BS of the highest order. No doubt it will be some sort of negative gearing thing, selling you overprices assets, usually properties and making you pay thousands of dollars for advice which is available for free if you care to look or for a reasonable price from your accountant.

  • Sounds like Reclaim Australia is branching out.

  • In home assessment = free entry and case the joint
Debt consolidation= everything you own and have financed consolidated in the back of their truck/warehouse.
    DON'T DO IT, PLEASE.

    • Thanks, will not be entertaining them, ever.

  • If it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true.

When the other person on the phone refuses to provide any source for their claims, you know that they're hiding something.

Government backed scheme, Ha what a laugh

    • How is it that claiming a government backed initiative allowed? Wouldn't this fall under the false advertising category? wondering if I should really report this as some poor sod would actually think its a real deal the way they present it.
