Where can I buy one of these? Preferable at a Kmart/coles/woolworths
I used to use Kogan but they have since changed it so that you must pay for plan before they receive texts
Please post any suggestions (must be working recently to avoid the kogan scenario)
Need a $2 Sim Card That Can Receives SMS (at Least in The Short Term)
Comments
Treat yo self
And you get $5.00 worth of included calls that last 1 year ($0.12 per minute & $0.12 sms)
So you could say the sim card is free.
Optus $2 SIM allows incoming for 6 months with no extra apend
does this still work? I contacted optus live chat and they confirmed that you need to buy a plan as part of the activation process
If you activate over the phone or in an Optus store it still works. Only online request you use a Credit Card.
So can we not purchase the $2 optus sim's to get cheap movie tickets?
Why not request a free Lycamobile (takes about 3 days) or Telstra (took a week)

thanks, currently asking telstra if it is possible. do you know if lycamobile lets you active your sim and receive texts without paying anything?
telstra just said that it is impossible, now it is down to lycamobile
called lycamobile and they said that it is possible, thanks! hope they aren't bluffing
que? unless something has changed, i did this no less than 6 months ago with telstra. the number was alive for >3 months.
@esco333: Good luck, unless Lycamobile have changed it should still work.
7/11 app you can get a free optus sim
Bump an old thread
I need another number to take some telemarketing online insurance quotes.
I already have Aldi mobile plan. If I buy another Aldi sim activate it can I transfer the credit to the old sim online after I have taken the quotes I'll bin the new sim as I wont have any use for it.
Maybe splurge a little, $5 with Aldimobile, will last a year. can buy it at any Aldi. uses telstra network too.
