Advice about OzSale

Hi team,

almost 6 months ago (Aug 2016) with a wedding anniversary coming up and the weather in Melbourne nice and cold I bought 3 leather jackets on Ozsale. I had bought stuff from them before and all went well. I bought a jacket for my wife to give her for an anniversary present, a jacket for my 19 year old son to put away for a XMas present and one for myself because it looked like a great deal. Anyhoo as the anniversary crept closer and no jacket I started chasing Ozsale, they kept assuring me all was Ok and just to wait. Anniversary came and went with no present and a lot of suspicion. I regularly chased Ozsale and they regularly gave me excuses telling me an investigation had been started. I paid nearly $700 on 30 Aug 16.

Since August last year I have been writing to Ozsale regularly. Over XMas they gave me a $20 voucher to apologise for the delay. It is now Feb and still nothing. I can appreciate maybe the things were sent via surface mail or something and they are suspicious that they might still show up or that they have an insurance claim in and there is a mandatory waiting period before they pay out but they haven't told me any of this, just that there is an investigation ongoing.

I bought via my credit card but it has been nearly 6 months. I should have done a chargeback early on but I listened to them and now I've probably missed my chance. One infuriating thing is that their 'account' feature does not retain previous orders older than 3 months or correspondence older than 3 months. Luckily I have kept all of the emails from conversations as on their website 'my account' feature there is no record of them selling me the jackets.

What should I do, I wrote again 2 days ago and no response. I think they are hoping I just give up and go away. Other than Bikies what are my options?

contact your credit card issuer and see if you are still do a chargeback. otherwise fair trading i suppose

  • It's very risky to allow 6 months. You should have done something if 2 weeks that the seller doesn't have a valid shipment tracking.

I bought from them once and never again. Took a month to send me two pairs of sunglasses. Six months is ridiculous and demand a refund. My co-workers told me they bought stuff for Summer and got it when Summer ended. Better off just to go to Myer or David Jones I say.

Try chargeback first. If no luck, advise Ozsale they have 14 days to send the items as purchased, or provide a full refund. After that, Fair Trading/Small Claims/whatever.

  • wow you waited 6 months?
if i have an issue with a store, i do a chargeback 1-3 months after receiving the item.

Another request for refund submitted with Ozsale and Credit Card chargeback through Westpac commenced.

    • It's about time.

  • Ozsale on your account screen doesn't show older items but they do still have the records, I've called up once from memory and they were able to see it.

  • What about the email with the order details?
I like djkelly69's suggestion as well.

  • Guys, chargeback worked. Bank reccredited $$ to my account

    • how far back can you do a charge back on purchases? i figure 6 months is close to the exclusion point.
