Bender: I've been perusing your fortified wine list and I've selected the '71 Hobo's Delight, the '57 Chateau Parté and the '66 Thunder Chevitz.
    Waiter: Exquisite choices, sir.
Bender: And mix them all together in a big jug.

What I think about whenever I read the term 'blended whiskys' haha

    • I've started to blend my own if I find the distillery blender got it wrong …. just add bit of something to get the taste I want. e.g. lagavulin if I want a touch of smokiness in an otherwise bland blend.

    • What's the point of single malts that are also blends from the same distillery? Unless the bottle specifies single barrel, the whisky is a blend.

one of the worlds best blended Scotch Whiskys

which world are they talking about?

  • I thought Ballantine's was always one of the cheapest Scotch's?

    • And it is. This one is the next cheapest at Dan's.

I admire anyone who can drink this.

    • tastes better if contents is transferred to an expensive labelled bottle….. not sure why ……might be based on same principle as the Peter Brock energy Polarizer.

Queue all of the non-whisky drinkers that normally chime in to whisky deals thinking they are original and funny asking where they can get some cheap coke or soda to go with…..here's your chance finally!

Where's the cheap coke and soda to with this?

More than good enough as a mixer IMO, thanks OP. will go and hustle 1st choice for price beat! Gotta get that extra 5c. OFF!.

Nah really, I've got a first choice store 5 min. away, Dan's more like 20 or 25 min. away.

      Thats the spirit! Lol!

    • with mixers the quality of the coke is actually very important … less so than the whisky where the only distinction in taste comes from if you use scotch or bourbon, as bourbon is made in new barrels and scotch in old barrels..

      • I only drink it with Coke as in from Coca Cola, not to be pedantic but did you mean the quality of the Cola.

I've never been able to stomach any of the different Frankencokes out there… Zero, Diet blah, blah blah, etc.

I used to drink it with Pepsi, but far too sweet for me.
