Descend into the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Mad Max, where ammo is sparse and the key to survival is the possession of a car. Take control of Mad Max and stay alive amongst the savage gangs of bandits who roam the desolate desert. Use using vicious on-ground and vehicular combat to ensure your own survival.

Following the theft of his iconic Interceptor, Max must align himself with a gifted, but peculiar, mechanic named Chumbucket and others to build the ultimate war vehicle as he works to escape from the dangerous Wasteland.

  • cheap but any good?

      Well worth it for $4

      • +4

bought 1! cheaper than my lunch~ hahaha

    • +2

I think it's worth it for ~$4 but it does get a little bit repetitive.

    • +2

Yes, no reservations at $4, or even $20. As others have mentioned, a little repetitive, but not to the point of endless grind. Good graphics, fun, doesn't require your highest cerebral functions (good for blowing off steam after a tough day).

  • +3

Good game, well worth it for that price

  • +10

Definitely worth it at this price. Game can get a little 'samey' and repetitive, but that can be said about a lot of open world games. It's Mad friggin Max, everyone :)

    • +1

It definitely can get repetitive, but even still it's still keeps me wanting to come back to it. I picked it up for like $7 I think, I'd have gladly paid $30 for it if I had known how much I'd enjoy it.

For this price it's an absolute steal.

    • I find this game a bit like Just Cause 2, just a lot less shooting and more bare fisted close combat. There's a lot of vehicular carnage.

Oh and no flying vehicles or overpowered grappling hook.

      • Just Cause without a grappling hook…hmm.

  • +1

If you paid $10 you would be happy so this is a no brainier.

  • Cheers OP!

  • Well worth the price tag. Do it!!

  • +4

Getting caught in one of those monster sandstorms was amazing the first time it happened.

They absolutely nailed the enviroment in this game. Great action too.

Yes, its repetitive, but well worth a play thru. At this price a total no brainer.

    • +1

It really feels like Australia too. They definitely nailed the Mad Max vibe and the characters and humour are all great. The car battles are exciting and fun. Fully lives up to the MM name.

Only flaw is that it's a very big sandbox and has millions of collectibles/objectives that can get a bit tedious.

  • well worth it. would have paid full price for this game happily

  • Thanks OP.

  • I got incredibly bored with this game although for the price worth it just to +1 to your games library;
I mostly just looked at the sand dune textures they look pretty noice

  • Steam worldwide?

  • I don't mind the repetitive as all open world games are like that but it takes so much farming just for minor upgrades I gave up after a few days.

  • Loved this.
Even with the samey game play, it was the first game I have played to completion for a long time.

  • Well worth it at 10 times the price!

  • A strange game. Progress is slow, fighting is difficult, and some of the driving mechanics are strange. Yet I ended up clocking around 40 hours lol. I do admit to using a cheat trainer to get experience right towards the end because I couldn't be bothered grinding

    • can't agree that fighting is difficult. (On PS4) Press triangle to block then press X to hit, very similar to Batman

      • i played on pc, a few things made the fighting difficult: getting hit from off camera, i cant block what i cant see. buttons not responding. you press block, and nothing, several reviews confirmed this as well. otherwise a great game, most certainly worth $5!

        • fair comment since this is a deal for the PC version

  • +2

    Weird. I can't see a code for the 5% discount…

    • +2

Same same. I've tried Chrome and IE and still no luck. Any hints?

      • +1

        Got the code eventually.

        Cheers to the OP.

      • Eventually worked for me. So maybe just try again?

  • Big thanks OP. Will buy a couple of keys for some friends!

  • +1

This game is amazing, especially in 3D if you have Nvidia 3DVision. The game is visually stunning, and absolutely nails the atmosphere of Mad Max. Super fun too. I've put 48hrs into it and I'm not bored yet, in contrast to what others are saying.

    • Oops replied to wrong comment

  • Do I get to drive the original interceptor?

    • Yep, it's in the game! Although I'm yet to find it

    • I can't even remember. Maybe it's a reward at the end.

They cars you get to build are definitely great though. Excellent looking and the road battles are great fun.

Google tells me you get it when you complete the game

Tempted to buy Mad Max when it dropped to around $20-30 but now it's a no brainer.

Time to finally play this for $3.98 AUD.

  • Good game

  • Which version is better to play? PC or PS4?

    • +1

I found the game is easier with a controller but found the pc version ran better

    • +1

I bout the PC version and it runs like butter! Its really well optimised!
