These are dark chocolate cherry liqueurs with whole cherries made in Germany by Sarotti, founded 1868. Previously $5.00 and obviously more before Christmas, they currently display at $3.50 but scan at $3.00. Over 30 boxes remained when I left. Best Before 28.06.2017.

It seemed apposite to test these for you all and report the result. Featuring 7.2mL alcohol per 100g and chocolate comprising 50% cocoa solids, they present a pleasing mild sourness. The good quality cherries are chewy and slightly juicy, the chocolate is medium mature with only enough sweetness and a solid chocolate base complements them. Nineteen accompanied my nocturnal pot of coffee. My motivation was to help you. My nose has just knocked my monitor.

      I haven't tasted the ALDI equivalent since 2014. These may be slightly sourer.
