Any teachers here? What do you salary sacrifice?

Hi,

I'm a new teacher and wanted to know if there are others in the same profession. I researched a little on salary sacrificing and wanted to know what has people been salary sacrificing to reduce taxes, etc.

      I'm interested to know a bit more about this, can this only be done with investment loans? or can it be your own home? also does it have to be with a bank of their choice?

    Regardless of occupation, salary sacrificing has tax benefits if you are in the >15% tax bracket.

    Big bonuses on top if you get employer matching, which I think many universities and government jobs do? If you have an employer match, max it out. If they offer 5% if you put in 5%, salary sacrifice that 5% for that sweet sweet 100% return.

    @gunther based in Victoria, so department of education and training if that helps?

    @zaenille - how do you know whether ones workplace offers employer matching?

    Apologies as I'm new to this industry and don't know much about salary sacrificing
