I have very occasional needs for stock imagery, but hate the prices/packages typically on offer so I have been looking at this for a few years now.
I got a lifetime subscription to http://www.stockunlimited.com/ for $USD50 via appsumo (a site for discounts for web designers/entrepreneurs). Stockunlimited specialises in vectors but has some photos. Appsumo have had other offers related to stock imagery too, so you might want to take a look at their site and maybe subscribe, because they are limited time offers like Groupon.
Otherwise, I like Canva, which is well priced and you can knock up a flyer or landing page or presentation in super quick time (acknowledging it is a hack job, but sometimes a hack job is all that is justified).
If I needed specific images from Getty or istockphoto, I would go to fiverr, where there are designers with unlimited monthly accounts who will get you the image you need for $USD5 or $USD10.
From time to time, Depositphoto does a credit sale which works out at about $1 per image if you spend $100. I have seen them posted on here. I think that is pretty good value too, but I haven't actually bought it.Can you please tell us what the results of the custom search engine provide? Like free to use graphics? Thanks.
