Can anyone tell me how reliable their instore pick up service is? did you have to give them your photo ID when ordering? were there any delays or troubles?

they had no idea when I ordered a xbox so maybe call before u go to confirm they grabbed it and put it away.
It's pretty straightforward. They usually ask for ID, but occasionally I just show them the invoice and they hand it over.
I walked up to regular counter, showed email receipt (thankfully i didn't need to print it as the email requested) and ID. They went out back into the store room for a while - then came back with my order. No issues.
The pick up process is painless…
what is not painless is the expectation that the store will actually pick the item for collection.they pretty much ignore click and collect emails in the busy stores, can be days even weeks before u hear from them if at all.
calling them doesn't help either…. i have stopped using their online site for anything, their shipping is a joke and click and collect is more like click, wait, call, go into collect, find out your item was sold to someone elsei have done click and collect multiple times in multiple jbhifi store. never had an issue.

Jimbobaus nailed it, would not recommend. I've had pretty poor experiences at stores near me (tried a few), eg:
- Ordered a phone with "same day pickup", had to follow them up a number of times over a week to find out they never had stock (still showed as "same day pickup" on their website days later too).
- Another same day pickup order, waited two days and then went in and nobody had picked the order.
- Third time got a collection email pretty quick, went in the store and it took them ages to find where it had been put.
Straight forward - picked up a TV with drivers license
