Gadget to stream music or video in a car

Hi all,

I am looking for a gadget or item or app or anything that I can control remotely.

There are two occasions that I need this for.
One is to play music in the other room where a baby is sleeping. I would like to choose which music to be played, control the volume, and switch it off or pause. All that without walking to the room.

Another is to play a video on the car back seat, again for a baby. Preferably video that is chosen can be from YouTube, or in the device or ipad or phones hard drive. So while driving, with a press of a few button on the phone (while stopping), it streams a video to that gadget.

I thought for the first thing can be just a simple Bluetooth speaker, but how to keep it on standby and always on? Please send me a link, as cheap as possible.

For the second one, I'm completely blank…

Thanks, again I have a strict budget for this. At the moment I already have an Ipad air, an iPhone 6, and a pretty old android phone.

  For the second, just put a headrest mount in for the ipad and start the movie before you start driving

  For the first, just choose from 1 of the many baby toys that play music for a designated time frame. Sometimes with light projection too.

    For the second, I don't want to play movie if she doesn't cry, also she doesn't always like one movie, sometimes she wants something else. I got that headrest mount, just need the streaming capability.

    She is so fuzzy, she won't take simple baby music, she wants a proper song, Mozart, etc.

    No no light in the room is known to be bad…

      In the car you only need a movie for long trips… You realise that many generations have done without movies in the car?
      So for a long trip just pick her favourite movie on the ipad.

      And what's wrong with light in a room for 10-20 minutes? No different to night lights etc

      Pro tip - don't cater to your kids every wish or you'll create a very fussy kid.

  If you have two android devices you could try AllCast and the AllCast Recevier

  This should for example let you stream from an android phone to an android tablet.

  My rechargeable BT speaker is always on and wall plugged. If I unplug it to use elsewhere, it's still powered.
