Hey all, I'm just looking for a return flight where I leave on Saturday and then return the next day.
I've been trying to use www.webjet.com.au, but it keeps saying "No flights found".
Thank you!

Basically only 3 airlines to try: Jetstar, Virgin and Tiger. Oh perhaps Qantas, but they are usually more than Jetstar anyway.
Use incognito mode if you don't want to retain cookies which might be used to detect your interest and raise prices, so some people say.
I've never heard of a website using a user's cookies to detect their interest and raise prices.
Is this really true???
It's perfectly feasible for them to remember what you have looked at. Whether they act on that information is another matter. For example sites like eBay detect that I have viewed certain items before and display a list, in case I'm still interested in buying.
Just tried webjet.
Plenty of flights from all arelines for sat 11th return 12th.
You should look again at webjet, they usually do a good job at showing available seats, though I book directly to avoid their fee.
If you are getting no result, it is likely a network issue, not their site.
You must have done your search on Webjet incorrectly. Works fine for me. Melb - Syd return about $180 next weekend Sat - Sun
Thanks!
So $180 is the cheapest for a return flight from Melb to Syd?
Depending on time of day (early morning, last evening flight, etc), day of week (midweek vs weekend, etc), time of year (school holidays, etc), special deals, etc. it can be cheaper. It really depends on how many of your requirements you are willing to relax to get those cheapies.
Thanks!
Mskeggs gave me the great idea of looking into getting a train from Melb to Syd.
Anyone know where I can look at train information?
Doing a web search on Melbourne Sydney train service will find it.
The train is 12 hours …
Wow, 12 hours each way?
Yeah, pretty much. I've been on it before from Sydney to Melbourne.
Wow that seems very long!
@ThePensioner: Longer if the train breaks down/something's on the track!
How was your experience? 12 hours each way seems ridiculous… :O
@ThePensioner: Slow. I'd rather fly
@kerfuffle: Not sure about you but accruing points and redeeming for flights in this scenario would work out the best. If you can transfer points from an Amex card to British Airways you can easily redeem a flight from Mel-Syd return for 9k points and $35 in taxes.
@nightelves: Yeah I use my AMEX Membership Rewards and convert them to Velocity; did that for my Melbourne trip a fortnight ago
You might wanna look at converting them to Etihad Guest miles. It even cheaper than Velocity.
Same return flight would be 13,800 points and about $20-$25 in taxes.

@nightelves: You'd need to be a member though right? I don't fly that much internationalluy plus I can rack up Velocity points through Wilson Parking and BP
I wish I could change the title of the thread to "Travelling to Sydney from Melbourne" as we're now talking about trains…
I will give you credit for relying on this community for so many questions in life..
Not only that, nothing seems to ever get done. Probably the trip won't happen and OP will ask this question again in a few years.
Pensioners have lots of free time and this one thinks ozbargain community are his PA's
Either that or Alzheimer's is making OP forget the question was already asked, hahaha.
Maybe he's found his hobby- posting simple googleable question on Ozbargain, same questions every few months, trolling the forums perhaps?
@Ughhh: Cut him some slack. Probably just lonely :(
