  • Nice price drop. Has anyone used these? Or earlier models? I was looking at getting some X2s recently.

    • i got the x2 around the same price and they have been perfect, never drops out, battery last as long as they say (as long as you remember to turn them off when not in use). only down side for the x2 is that they stick out of you ear quite a bit and causes wind noise when i go cycling, but the x3 a shorter, so it should be better.

    • i have the original bluebuds x and while i like the build quality and battery life (kinda expecting more than 8 hours for this 3rd gen, but i guess the size reduction offsets it), the user interface is rather annoying. quite a long press on the power button to get it to turn off. voice alerts every time you adjust the volume - a bit intrusive. also the feel of the buttons isn't to my liking.

these are my back-up set and i use the first gen plantronics backbeat go as my main set

    • I also have the x3s. They are great. The smaller size is great. And yes, the only downside is the proprietary charging cradle.

  • +1

i have these. They're great. Go check out reviews, they're all over the net.

Only downside is the proprietary recharge attachment, if you lose it, you're screwed. Waiting for some Chinese knockoffs which i assume will hit the ebay soon enough.

    • How do you find the Bluetooth connection?

I can't decide whether to buy these or wait for Beats X that has the apple W1 chip.

      • +1

i had the same thought, but then i found out the beats x are not sweat/water resistant, so that was a no go. I use these for running/gym all the time.

    • Xiaomi make exactly that. ~$50 AUD and with micro USB charging. I've got a pair and I'm pretty happy overall.

  • I had the X1 model and the sound cut out constantly. I couldn't even have my iPhone in my pocket and walk without the sound going in and out. Has that issue been fixed with the X3s?

    • I can't see that they're aptx enabled. IME any headphones without this are hopeless due to cutting out.

      • +1

aptX doesn't increase range, it just increases audio quality.

        • Indeed you are right.

      • What? Still no AptX in 2017? Especially at this price point??

    • I'd assume it'd be better (since X1 and X2 uses Bluetooth 2.1, X3 uses 4.1). Things like less interference between 4G and bluetooth signal does sound nice on paper. Though, whether it actually will be better depends I reckon.

  • Nice work OP. Been waiting for these to go back on sale. Just purchased 2!

    • Do you have 2 pairs of ears?

  • This hasn't hit the front page yet. What's wrong with it? Not value for money?

    • People are probably expecting it to drop further as the x3 just got released late last year. Personally I bought it as the price is reasonable.

      • Yeah, to be honest I'm waiting for it to drop in price too.

      Yes, definitely overrated.

After reading this review and watching a ton of YouTube videos on these earphones I decided to buy them and give them ago. They appear to be the best in the market so far. Together with my heart rate monitor Wahoo Tickr X these will work well for my runs and gym work outs in the future.

you may call me a 'cheapskate', or 'stingy' or 'tight' but there's no way I am spending over $60 let alone $100 for any type of 'quality' earphones. happy sticking with my $10 Wicked Audio hehe

    • +3

      cool?

  • I ordered one of these (X3)during December and I received it on time. But one of the ear buds wasn't working. I contacted Jaybird and their support centre (Logitech) here in Australia and the US. But they let me down by saying 'No international warranty. We're sorry". I had to spend $25 and send it back to Amazon for refund. If you really need it urgently, then buy it from Amazon. Otherwise wait for them to start selling in Australia.

Look wise, I wasn't impressed much. I think JayBird X2 was much better.

    • Should have talked to Amazon directly. I had jaybird x2s all three crapped out on me. I had to return them and Amazon reimbursed the postage costs for me.
I was impressed initially then it died and the next two I bought also were faulty. Hopefully x3s will deliver.

  • great deal for these awesome headphones

  • Had the X2s and lost them, which was pretty upsetting. Have ordered some of these as the sound quality on the X2s was decent (apparently these have a small improvement). I never found the range an issue with the X2s and would get 50m+ out of them without any cutting out.

  • Been doing research on BT headphones last few days and ended up getting JABRA ROX just yesterday.
Review said it's a little bass-heavy, but I'm finding it fine so far.

Thought about X3 as well, but the charger thing put me off. I can charge Jabra Rox using the phone charger.

  • These must be getting very close to landing in Australia. Now available throughout Europe…

Thanks to the op - referral credit coming your way, been waiting for a decent price and some post to Aus!

  • Seems like it's no longer available.

  • Just bought mine yesterday at JBHiFi, pretty pleased with it besides trying to find the proper fitment for myself….

I'd say grab it locally cause… Usually Bluetooth earphones are just unpredictable in terms of how long they last and the durability of it… JB let's you pay extra to grab warranty that you just walk in and no questions asked and just replace or upgrade.

It may be an extra $80-$90~ for local plus the $30… It's worth knowing the ease of having it returned and replaced

    • Wow I didn't know they were available here yet!

      • They were just out, the store person didn't even know he had them… Adter I purchased the first one he started placing them on displace

    • It may be an extra $80-$90~ for local plus the $30… It's worth knowing the ease of having it returned and replaced

For an extra ~$120 I'd rather take the risk and get it from Amazon. If it fails past the warranty period I can just buy a brand new set with the $120 I saved, if it doesn't fail I'd be $120 better-off.

My friend's X2 developed a problem, he contacted Amazon who sent him a brand new set along with a shipping label to return the old ones.

      • True but it's there and I don't wanna go through customer services and waste my time… That's my own preferences I guess

        • I was surprised at how easy it was. A simple online query and they sent him a replacement. It was definitely less time and effort spent compared to having to go to JB, wait for someone who's free, explain what's wrong, wait for them to fill out documentation, etc.

        • @eug:

I have seen my mate go through the process at JB, no questions asked if you show the warranty purchase and receipt. Instant swap no paper work

        • @klonezeeh: OK, in that case it's more like paying $85 for an extended warranty on a $145 item. Up to you I guess!

        • @eug:

Yea I'd say pretty worth, used it on the plane and while travelling so.. Yea that was actually in my mind on why I'd pick one up locally too

    • Are you sure you got the X3's???? How much?

      • Yes, pretty sure.

  • +1
  • You can bet similar to the F5 Freedoms JB will do a discount deal on the X3's at some point.

    The F5's RRP - $249 - Discounted to $199
    The X3's RRP - $199 - Discounted to ????

Enjoy the X3's people the wait has been long :)

  • my order hasnt shipped yet , bought on feb 5 , is anyone else experiencing the same problem with amazon ? and how can i contact amazon , it says shipping soon since feb 5.

    • I purchased on 3 Feb, they were shipped on 13 Feb, and they arrived in Sydney on 17 Feb.

Looks like Amazon may have changed suppliers since this deal was first posted.

      • thanks , i just called amazon in the US , they had no clue and basically just gave me the same information which i already had in front of my screen which is utterly frustrating. i might have to cancel as they have no clue whatsoever , all they know is that its preparing for shipment. I dont know what kind of preparations does it take in order to ship out a small package .
