Still a gear game …..Own a copy and you can host another PC as a guest if you have visitors and they want to battle each other . My 9 year loves being zerg .

I also saw this price at town hall sydney (the Galeries one).

    • Thanks, nice to know it extends to other stores.

Shelf price at Bourke St Melb was $39, but scanned at $14.

Thanks op. Got one from North Sydney.

The original starcraft chest, which has starcraft and brood wars was 9 dollars.

    Bought one - thanks.

Just confirming this does not come with StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void

    • Correct, although you can get it there for $19

Cheers. Bought it anyways - just in my mind when I read battlechest I assume the whole series is in it.

I'll get it later then. Have a nice day

I paid almost $60 on battlenet. Very good price for an excellent game.

  • Let's wait it until it includes lotv

    • Or wait until StarCraft 3 is released, then 2 will be even cheaper!

Better yet, wait until copyright expires and you won't have to pay anything! :-)

  • CDkeys.com has the new battle chest with xpac for like $30 or something. I bet JB has the newest xpac alone for like $50

Still I almost considered getting this for the lols, but I know I'd want the new xpac right away.

    • The something is $36.89

JB Hi-Fi has Legacy of the Void for $19, so you can get all 3 for $33 (plus a bonus strategy guide)

      • If you buy the physical copy from JB, can you add it to your battlenet account via cdkey and throw the DVD away? Or do you need to keep it for any future install?

        • +1

I believe the key gets attached to your battle net account and you can download the entire installer online.

      • +1

        Oh, that's decent.

      • Can you go from wings of liberty to LOTV (I.e., skip Zerg)? Also, this says PC game, do you think you can buy this and use the product key to download a Mac/OSX version?

        • +1

The box of the Battle Chest says "Win Mac DVD" in the bottom right hand corner. Not sure about the BattleChest 2.0 on cdkeys.com

Legacy of the Void is a stand-alone expansion, so it doesn't require Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm.

        • +2

@Stoz: I think there's been an update from Blizzard so each of those become stand alone expansion as well. I can play Heart of the Swarm just fine without Wings of Liberty.

@dione: Thanks for the info. The "Heart of the Swam" boxes at JB Hi-Fi had a "No longer requires Wings of Liberty to play" sticker on them, so I think you're correct.

@Stoz: Hey, thanks for the replies. Purchased LOTV. yep, works on OS X. Also, you don't need an additional 30 Gb of HDD/SSD if you already have wings of liberty installed. I deleted stacks only to find that battle net just accepted the redemption code and the LOTV campaign was enabled on my next login.
