These deals are 1000x better than the Fitbit crap. I so regret buying the Alto for my wife as it is the worst wearable I have ever seen (the Surge is not that much better from what I have been told).
Samsung does not have gps, Moto360 works 2 days max (meaning recharge everyday). Surge runs for 5 days (including gps usage), + display is always on. The only crappy thing about it is their strap.
@Den: I dunno. After the fiasco with my Wife's Alto - 2 days of battery life, No battery indicator at all on the main display etc. Their experience has left a rather sour taste to me. Not to mention those Smartwatches can do 100x more than what the Surge can do (if you are keen for that sort of capability)
@Den: Surge doesn't work with GPS for 5 days.. If you use GPS it will last max a day. I've had one of these for 1 1/2 years. It's been replaced twice (have to admit to replacement scheme is amazing with Fitbit). But the battery is hopeless with GPS. Also the band wears really quickly. So better of buying the other brands or the Fitbit Blaze.
@iJustinz: Well, with one hour gps (25-30 min ride to work and back) usage per day it stays 4-5 days. It weakens in a year to 3-4 days.
Blaze does not have gps and looks bulky.
I would love to go with some other brand/model, but I cant see anything with same functionality.
DO NOT TOUCH THIS, just search the fitbit forums for surge band issues. you'll find alot of them and once the warranty expires they wont replace it again.
it'll be an expensive watch that only lasts 1 year.
Cool story, I bought my wife one from Target on a deal mentioned here, and she called contacted fitbit directly after her band was starting to tear, they sent out a brand new one, no questions asked, and she was allowed to keep her old one as well. Was only a month or so ago.
I'd say that's pretty amazing service.
A workmate gave up after 6 or 7 bands were replaced
cool story bro, wait till your 1 year warranty expires
I use it, its pretty crap
get the charge 2, you can change the band on that.
This is in response to all the people mentioning FitBit's horrible policy regarding broken bands.
You can now buy FitBit Surge replacement bands from AliExpress (and probably others) at this link for example.
My story is similar to others, I bought a FitBit, within a month, a puppy chew it up and I put it away in to be discovered over a year later. I bought two of these bands and replaced the straps very easily with the supplied tool. I've been wearing it for months now.
Why would people buy this instead of a cheaper Android wear smart watch with similar functionality + more
