My phone's charging port has broken and the screen is also cracked badly, so I need a new phone. I can't buy something online because I need to have a working phone in my hands by Friday.

I picked up a ZTE Blitz from Coles recently for $89, really happy with it, very impressive build quality & feature set for the money.

If you live near a major city try Gumtree. A lot of unmwanted gifts end up on there so you can sometimes get a reduced to $89 phone for $59, for example.
I was in the same situation as you and was forced to buy the cheapest bearable phone from Officeworks just before closing time. But with no specials on it was buy nice or buy twice. I still haven't upgraded though :)
