I have one so happy to answer any questions people have regarding the actual product itself.
The watch face is pretty large so definitely worth trying it on to see if you like the size (saying that I don't have massive arms/wrists but still doesn't look ridiculous on me). Still thick for a watch but much better than the cheaper models (had the garmin 15 before this one)

Guessing that they will bring a new one out soon with integrated heart rate monitor on the back of the watch (so like the 235 but with a few more features). The watch was great and haven't regretted buying it for more. Does freeze occasionally so need to reset it but the advanced metrics are pretty awesome if you are into it (stride length, left/right balance, ground contact time etc).

I have the 235 which has the optical heart rate on the wrist.
The 630 is a chest strap and designed for the advanced runner (certainly not me).
This or a Forerunner 235?

It depends if you need the advance features such as stride length, ground contact time, vertical oscillation etc, and whether you prefer the chest strap of the 630.
I am a beginner runner and I find the 235 has way more features than I ever need. And the optical HR monitor is good enough for me.
However, I don't think there are any deals on the 235 at the moment.
Can't wait for the Fenix 3 sales spercially when Fenix 5 is releasing soon.

You're talking about RRP as though it's a measure of value. It isn't, it's a device to manipulate your (and everyone's) sense of value in the favour of the seller.
Ex-Garmin users here. Their software is not that great.
