Thread on Whirlpool about the TV.
Feedback seems to be here and there, bang for buck i guess at this price.
Every bloody time a Soniq TV deal is posted on here I read it as "Sony" and get excited…
still only 3 HDMI ports :(
Just buy 3 Port HDMI Switch Switcher Hub with Remote Control Splitter Box from eBay :-)
That's what I've done
Here is the link for the one I have got - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400963167869
great little unit that one! got it last week, bang for buck device
I've got this one from Aussie supplier,
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171199528038?_trksid=p2057872.m27…
cheaper and no need for remote control to switch ports, it automatically detects a signal from device (PS4/PVR/etc) and switches port over.
Works great!'
I looked at that one also - my choice came down to aesthetics
It's only has 2 HDMI ports on this model, not even 3
The golden question is - how does the quality compare to a Hisense?
That's CHEEEEAAAAPPPP for sure…Never seen 65" TV less than $1000…. but then its SONIQ
Reviews are that it's shit.
Look at the 1 star reviews on JB's siteI own this TV (bought for $999 before Xmas) along with a Changhong UD65D4000 (bought for $799 in the Binglee Jan sale). Both have 3 year warranties which is useful at this price point.
Of the 2 I prefer the Changhong. Here's why:-
1 - It has ARC that actually works ok with my Yamaha receiver.
2 - It's a dumb TV. I use HTPCs and WDTVs on both and have no need for Smart Features. I only bought the Soniq as it was cheap and my old LG 60" plasma was showing its age… That was just a few weeks before my other large TV died, hence 2 x 65" TVs in just a few weeks…..
3 - The Changhong has 3 HDMI inputs whereas the Soniq only has 2. Not really an issue if you use an external receiver but the Changhong is certainly more flexible with HDMI (see ARC comment)
On the other hand
1 - The Soniq has slightly more even back lighting but both are better than an Aldi unit I tried.
2 - The Soniq runs ok at 4K using an Nvidia GT710 set to 24Hz. 30Hz introduced video artefacts but given it's used for video playback it's a non-issue at 24Hz.
3 - I've not tried 4k on the Changhong but note that you must set it to PC mode for proper 1080p scaling. I suspect the same will be true at 4K.Note - I've not tried either with gaming consoles.
is this TV 120+ hz ?
says 100hz on the link
That Hertz, man
Input lag is junk on this set don't bother
Aldi is far superior for input lag over 4k / 1080p
Suspect the details above are wrong … its either uhd or 1080p …
