Best I can find is at Harvey Norman till 30/1/17 for $1528

Bing Lee's upcoming sale (starts 30/1/17) but doesn't stock Acer Swifts.
Surely there's a better deal elsewhere.

Thank you Scrimshaw. Always appreciate your contributions.
I'll pass this info on to my son who considers battery time and weight as prerequisites. Asus fits the bill (which I'm paying !!)
The problem is with all this ultrathin laptops everyone wants is that they are trying to conserve power, there just isnt enough room to put the capictors and power regulation stuff in these devices, they use lower powered cpus and integrated graphics cards at the trade off with a smaller chassis
Unfortunately if you want a laptop with "grunt" expect to have a slightly thicker chassis and higher wattage power supply to cope with it
So went with this from Bing Lee (-20%) $1360 + $9 P&H

Far too expensive for $1528. The fact that HN is stocking it but nobody else is might be because of an exclusive contract HN has with Acer.
I see the ASUS zenbook ux330ua at $1380 a much better value proposition. Consider that an alternative.

the Pcmag reviews says "Acer Swift 7 review: The world's thinnest laptop is starving for power
With this skinny ultraportable, you'll trade performance and features for quiet and silence."
and PCAdvisor says "Acer Swift 7 review: the world’s thinnest laptop is impressive, but not for everyone"
which I strongly agree with. You are paying a lot of money for a thin laptop, which doesn't offer much in terms of CPU grunt. The ASUS is a better competitor.
