Different tastes…
This is a single malt… Hibiki is a great blend. Very different palate. Worth reading master of malt etc for some decent reviews on these.
Not a big fan and probably the least popular out of the Suntory range in Australia.
If you compare this to Yamazaki 12 which retails for $200-220 and Hibiki 12 ~$220ish in Dan Murphys. I don't think my local ever ran out of Hakushu 12's even at a $150 price point
Dude this is a great price. Thanks
Dude!
Where's my car?
pretty sure i saw this in the bar in yakuza 0
"the bar" like there's only one
rofl such a good game
And Coke's on sale at Woolies. Great timing!
please don't
I actually had coke zero with hibiki 17 when I was in Japan last week.
Would recommend, but maybe not at Australian prices.
There was a reason you got kicked out of office.
It was only like 900 yen ($11) for 50mls so I said what the hell, I'll do it for the meme.
Wow!.. 4 yrs ago I paid AUD $40 at Tokyo Airport for this bottle!!
How much did it cost you to get to Tokyo?
Troll!.
(ง°ل͜°)ง
Are you sure it was the 12yo not the standard Distiller's Reserve?
I dont remember now but it was either 12yo or 18yo.
I'll back you up. I paid about $40 at Kansai about 5 years ago, for the 12 year.
I have requested a replacement bottle several times from family members travelling to and from Japan, but they can only ever find the distillers reserve which is a good drop but not nearly as good as the 12.
It's smokier and peatier than a typical Jap whisky. My favourite.
Not for Aus local price though. Ouch.
It's not "Aus Local Price" any more. Japanese Whisky has gone up around the world due to the increase demand for it over the last few years.
Great price for 12 y/o: so hard to get aged Japanese Whisky now…
I bought 2 bottles of the Chita whiskey in Japan a few weeks ago for $40 each. It's $160 over here.
You have to remember, duties alone costs $82.27 per litre per 100%. So a Chita which is 700ml at 43% is $24.76 alone in duties not taking into account shipping and GST.
You can still pickup Chita's duty free in Australia for $80 which is still a bargain
good luck finding this stuff in store in Japan…
what you on about? this is not as rare as the other bottles… Easily found.
you can easily find this one in japan for about 9000yen before 8% sales tax
Saw a couple in bic camera shinjuku last week, a few in liquors hasegawa in tokyo station… Just have to look for it. Same goes for hibiki and yamazaki.
hey guys just a heads up this has been available for awhile. you can place the order through but then you will eventually get a call from first choice saying its out of stock. has happened to me many times.
i tried to buy this on Tuesday but before i tried i gave them a call and they said theres no stock + a back log of people waiting for it.
If its available in store, give them a call before you rock up and do an order!
Price match at dan Murphy's?
haha i actually did price match at dan murphys cos they just need to see that its available online.
Just call them up and they will match it!
Imagine how cheap you could do it if you could match the $10 off
Plus cash rewards
Plus 5% wish gift discount
All out /mope
$10 off Coupon has expired any more for FEB?
how does this compare to hibiki or yamazaki? i havent had this one before.
