  • Your excitement only last for a day, so none, get something better , ie PS4 :)

    • Probably right, I heard Crash Bandicoot is getting remastered for the PS4, if I go that route then I'd have to decide between a PS4 Pro or a Nintendo Switch. Maybe a PS4 Pro now and Nintendo Switch when some sort of bundle is released with Mario Odyssy late this year. Choice is a double edged sword for me most times it seems…

If you want to play Crash Bandicoot type of games, just get PS4 (no need to get pro).
I had a Sega Mega Drive/ SEN setup with Raspberry Pi and got bored after few hours :)

  • Sega's turn to cash in. Which company will be next?

I personally use an Android box for all my emulation. Only downside is that it doesn't look like an original console.

print shells of the consoles out of cardboard and stick it on the box :P

    • Hopefully Sega again - do the Dreamcast.

    • Only downside is that it doesn't look like an original console.

Not playing games properly with glitches, garbled or non-synced audio isn't a downside?

      • I don't have that problem.

        • What Android box do you use and what systems do you run on it?

  • Still have my Mega Drive and an Atari 2600.
I received an email from Atari this morning about launching a new console thingy by joining hands with Gameband.

Just a heads up, the wireless controller that come with this are absolute garbage and only work with direct line of vision, like a TV remote.
Also, the processing from input into keypad and response on the TV is ever so slightly delayed, but enough to make playing frustrating.
On the upside, you can purchase corded controllers on ebay for $20ish that rectify both problems but it is an added expense and the cords are crazy short (think they were left same length from early days when you would play the game on a tiny tv)

    • Direct line of vision for the controllers it ships with to work? Seems like that would be worse then just wired a controller instead. Guess its $99.95 plus new controllers and extension cables now.

      • It was unplayable for me. Give it a try and see what you think yourself before you go ahead, but wired controller were night and day better than the ones that came with the console.

    Do the gamecube

    • The Nintendo Switch is rumoured to get Gamecube games in Virtual Console. They will probably list them for $20 a pop.

  • Hey..I have that..Bought from either big w or Myer for $49 like 2 years ago

This is outdated junk. Atleast Nintendo was a redesign with HDMI

  • This is old.
It's not really made by Sega, and the sound emulation is inaccurate.
Most reviews for this are negative. It's not comparable to the Nes Mini.

  • This seems to not only be a re-release of the @tGames/Blaze console noted for it's horrific sound emulation but it's also overpriced. There's a glimmer of hope it's a totally revamped unit but given that it's composhite connection this is highly doubtful. I suggest steering well clear of this quick buck making attempt.

  • Asked for one for Xmas for that Nostalgia feels, wish I didnt

Controller is horrible, requires line of sight as mentioned, and the graphics are almost unplayable…. it honestly feels like they got worse since they were released.

    Keep your cash.

    • Seems to be the general consensus to steer clear from this, I think the no HDMI thing is a deal breaker for me anyway, might stick to the NES Classic Mini, was lucky to score one with the Catch Of The Day Sale a few days ago.

  • You might be better off buying a Raspberry Pi 3 and installing RetroPie on it. I connect a PS3 controller (or a PS4 - whatever you have lying around) using the built-in Bluetooth and it works a treat.

The real value here is that it emulates a ton of old consoles and computers using a single device…

  • Retro pi with wired usb controllers do shite over these nintendo and mega drive rebirths.

I have on the Nintendo a few hundred games and the megadrive i have about 400 games and a lot of great games arent even on the list.

  • No Toejam and Earl?

    Sacriledge
