Hello all,
A friend who is obsessed with gaming, particularly games of a Japanese flavour, refuses to buy a PS4. Resident evil 7 came out and he's been really keen to get my thoughts on it. He's a big resident evil fan. I told him I've really enjoyed the game and he said he's looking forward to coming over and playing it one day but he lives a bit of a distance away so it's hard to organise a play date what with us both working all the time. Any way, he told me that he watched the entire game on YouTube with some bloke speed running the game in 6 hours. I told him that watching people play games vicariously isn't my cup of tea and with a horror game where it's an intement narrative driven game you need to experience it yourself. He's clearly invested enough to make the leap and purchase a PS4 with that kind of 6 hour YouTube dedication. He owns a 360 and a Wii. The original ps4 machine is selling really cheap now. Yet, he still refuses to buy one because it's "always online". I pointed out that his smart phone is always online and taking in far more info about him than the PlayStation is. What are your thoughts? I said I don't want to be a salesman for Sony but I'm still perplexed. Each to his own I guess.
nothing to it. If he enjoys someone on youtube playing a game he likes, so be it, a lot of people are like that, simply because they want to see what the game is like before they buy, they cannot afford it or they just to watch someone else play it.
