  • I didn't have any luck when I tried a few weeks ago. It seemed like the rates were non-negotiable if you contact telstra, but if telstra contacted you (outbound call center, etc), then you might get a better deal.

  • I have always had fees waived

Although you are better off getting foxtel on a free iq3 install deal with no setup and box fees + 3 months free
and then chosing your own internet provider tbh

  • Yes. Took 3 months of phone idiocy to get them to agree to it … then they agreed and charged me the fee anyway which I then had to go back and fix which took another 3 months because naturally they weren't just going to refund it because it wasn't a mistake on their part. Happy times!

  • I call them up and they didn't want to listen to anything with giving me credits at all. Funny thing is we had foxtel 4 month ago, they want to charge me 100 bucks to plug it in. Diji did u just call them up or online

  • Guaranteed way is to make some order that Telstra is likely to stuff it up (at which they're very good) then once you get the bill, chased them up aggressively to get some compensation, you'll get a fair amount of discount. I ordered internet bundle with them for the new place and they mistakenly activatedt at the old place, call them up to fix and they took it as i wanted to have internet and phone services separately so the first bill came with me paying twice for the phone service. After lots of phone call and emails they agreed to charged me only for monthly bundle, no activation fee. Funny thing was I had to have a technician came to have a look at the hfc cable and had to rerun the whole cable and told me it would cost $200 for a 20 min job but I got away from that too.

The only onus is you'd need a lot of chase up so try to keep you voice calm. And i reckon you'd have to be existing customer for this to happen.

  • Hey mate, I recently got mine waived but I had to submit a complaint through to the website.
Here's a few points from my complaint.

"We have investigated your concern and found:

Upon signing up to a new bundle at the shop, you were promised that there will be no downtime regarding with the connection of your service.
You have provided all the documents needed for the connection of your service
You have experienced a downtime since your services wasn't connected right away due to suspected fraud.
You don't have an internet connection during the connection period as you've requested for your old bundle to be disconnected from the other provider.
To resolve your complaint, we are offering the following as a proposed solution:

I will be waiving the connection fee and the activation fee in your most recent bill."

The fraud issue was having 2-3 prepaid services active on my account which was not me. (resolved)
I also submitted the complaint after the bill was issued - appprox 300$ - $189 waived.

    hope this helps.

  • Thanks Guys,
