I see it a lot where they recycle T&C's from previous competitions and just straight up forget to change some of the important details. I think it is most likely recycled from their christmas giveaway going by the ships in january.
I totally agree that a lot of places go a bit overboard on the legalese and trying to cover themselves, that it all becomes a bit of a shambles.

It all looks a bit dodgy when you read terms and conditions. Things like you agree to terms and conditions and if we change those later (which we reserve the right to do), then you are still bound by the new terms and conditions, even though you may not be even aware of the changes. Another one, we will ship prizes out in January, even though winners won't be announced until February.
I'm sure that the company means well, but they need to work on their PR skills when it comes to the details. The current version wreaks of amateur hour - in a way they would have been better off with less of an attempt at legalese and fewer T&C in plain language.
