Samsonite carbonite Hardcase Roller Spinner Luggage 75cm with Hardcase Cabin Baggage for $199 @ COSTCO (Membership Required)

correction Carbonite model. not the high end model. Not made in EUROPE. probably in China**
Thought this was an awesome deal. Don't know the exact model name but it's the lightweight hardcase with spinner roller (360°). Looking at the prices they go for elsewhere thought this will be a great deal.
10year warranty.
TSA lock
Lightweight

And with lifelong warranty from Costco as long as you're a member.

  • Don't know the exact model or have a photo?

  • Thanks Op. Slightly off topic, but you didn't happen to see any samsonite backpacks of mentionable price did you? 😁

  • Is it Australia wide?

    • It usually is

  • Hmm I wondering if this is worth buying membership for?

    • Buy membership if
1: they have a fuel station nearby. Filling fuel saves you roughly 10$each time.
2: you like buying in bulk
      3: you eat chicken
4: you like Lifetime money back warranty

how can this be a deal when you dont even know the exact model?

    • +1

      Cos it's Samsonite brah!

    • -3

You voted neg when you have only one post since 2012!! Are you from the voting panel?

  • If you could find out which model it would be great… would be worth it if its the firelite as these normally sell for $849 (currently $509) in myer. However i'm guessing its probably just the octolite which is currently on sale in myer for $179.

I haven't seen the model they sell anywhere in other shops. I think its a Costco Exclusive Model.

  • Samsonite are just overpriced.

  • is it this by any chance? picture is taken from costco US
    https://www.costco.com/Samsonite-2-piece-Hardside-Spinner-Se…

    • Pretty sure it's the cosmolite model (silver).

      • Yea just checked the pic; looks like it

        • that is not the Cosmolite. I'm guessing this one weighs almost double the Cosmolite (don't have the specs, but going from the other costco model someone posted).

  • In the market for Samsonite luggage but with next to nothing information about model, sizes, weights, no deal for me thanks.

  • Just out of interest. At which Costco store was this spotted?

    • Canberra

  • I've seen these before, they don't seem to be the same quality as other Samsonite luggage lines?

    • How did you find that? Felt the same to Me. Unless you or someone you know used it

      • Havent seen this suitcase but DKNY & CK jeans are a cheaper and worse material. CK shirts had cheaper buttons and the collars & cuffs didnt feel as nice.

  • Biggest troll alive. Although they are Samsonite, but this isn't the range like cosmoslite or firelite, these are the ones made in China for Costco.

Something like these not LIGHTWEIGHT as it claims…

Actually the high end ones are from Europe?

        • -2

You're right. Higher end which are 600+ are made in Europe. Sorry about that.
But the less than 600 ones are made in the same place as this. What does it matter if there is 10 year warranty from Samsonite? Same thing brah

        • -3

          @samsal46:
So you also think <$1K macbook air is the same thing of $3K+ Macbook pro?
          Price for a reason mate!

        • -1

@elf888: read my post bro. I never said this is the high end one. This is for the people who actually buy this range of suitcases. Any 10year warranty suitcase will be higher than this price. So better from Samsonite. Smh

It's laughable when ppl say it's from EU and means good! Which EU car maker was the biggest fraud in history? - it doesnt matter! ppl buy its cars like fly to rotten egg regardless…
Many cheap EU stuff are made in Turkey! rest are from Eastern EU and those countries are NOT known to make many good quality stuff!
Most expensive stuff would very likely to be partly made in China, looking at you Apple and the likes!

        • Made in Europe with parts from China.

        • +1

When they cant specify even what country its made in other than a continent, I just know it's not from a nice place. In my mind, having this thing made in Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia or Spain means the same as made in China. If not worse off as these country tend to have next to no proper infrustructure.

        • @Jamesx: Haha spot on. All the high end quality tech we use daily are all from China.

        • @Ryanek:
my one said made in Japan……….

Now that we established that it is not Cosmolite/Firelite range (high end range of Samsonite), we agree that this deal is not a deal? Mod tried to make it sounds like it is the same as those which retail way higher and hence the "bargain" post.

        • dude are you for real? "Mod tried to make it sounds like it is the same as those which retail way higher and hence the "bargain" post." wth is that supposed to mean? and the above dimensions are not for the same model. look at the pics i attached. they are two different models!

I got this from America costco last time i was there

they are light (prolly not ultra light), expandable
used it a few times, no issues

    • Finally a useful comment. Thanks.

    • May i ask you if we can use membership from AU Costco in US Costco? Thank you in advance.

      • +1

        yep, its world wide

Although Samsonite, the quality pales in comparison to their Cosmolite, Octolite, etc.
It is a made for Costco line which is much heavier and less sturdy than their normal lines. I personally wouldn't buy it; get a real samsonite from Myer on sale. Also it has been this price for a long time, I first saw it last year around October in my local Costco. Not a bargain imho

These have been available @ Moorabbin VIC since before Christmas. Just came back from there (wasn't shopping for luggage) and this time I paid attention and took a photo.

These are Samsonite Carbonite 360 s piece set. Sold on eBay for over $300 delivered from UK.

They are made in China and come with 10-year Samsonite warranty.
Here is discussion from when they were on sale in Canada.

They also have Antler Talara for the same price in bronze or black (10 year warranty - unknown origin). It scored well on SkyScanner luggage test.

    • How much is the antler

      • "for the same price in bronze or black"

      • 129 for 80cm, 199 for 80cm + 30cm

      • Cheers… i might go for the antler set but don't know if available in syd.

        • They are available at Costco Crossroad Sydney.

    • These have been available @ Moorabbin VIC since before Christmas.

Did they start selling this set a year and a half ago for exactly the same price?

  • they are available at both Lidcombe and Casula Costco

Pretty sure they are Samsonite Carbonite however they don't come with TSA lock whereas the Antlers do.

  • Hi me and my wife bought one from DFO southwarf last Saturday it was $171 then 10% futher on the same we ended up pay $160 dollar for cabin
