Interesting paint job on the backpacks. Pink covering the… logo?

    • +1

Yes. Bags don't have the pink :)

  • +1

OP, I gather they have some sort of corporate logo on them? they look like the sort of bag you'd pick up at a convention or trade show.

Clearly if they say "Tampax" or "Viagra" they might be a hard sell, even at this price.

    • +2

I may be wrong but it looks a lot like a bag i have from an RTO, that has now been rebranded. Still a good bag

      • +1

        Yeah….messenger bag looks good.

        • That's what i have, does the job. Padded and sturdy. Don't ask what size laptop it takes, 15" ok

    • +11

Ummm, I'd pay for a Viagra branded backpack! That's a natural aphrodisiac

      • +1

Most uplifting message when you go to work daily

      • +2

Might give you a stiff back though.

        • Harden up.

        • @Shiny Mew: My back's been kinda floppy these days…

      • You can have this pink splooge backpack for free. That might work, if for the curiosity factor.

    • Luckily they aren't.

    • +1

"Viagra" would certainly be a hard sell!!

      • +1

…you should be able to flog these off easily!

  • +1

    and stylish too!

  • +7

take 1000- he wants them gone

    Here we go Mr Broden

  • +2

I don't understand why the branding has been covered for a free product?

    • +8

The company disposing is a third party. I thought I'd cover it.

  • +6

stick an ozbargain logo on it

  • +1

The branding is for a business not a product.

  • -7

darn it, anyone going and willing to drive free stuff to me…… ;-) Everything free is never close to me…… :( Good luck to anyone that gets free stuff though, right place right time.

        Parliament Dr, Canberra ACT 2600

ps Remember to clearly state your name and return address so it is easy to track you down……… ;-)

        • +1

I Don't have an actual address, it's more of a boat,
          a yacht if you will,
          Well if I'm honest
          it's a ship
You know I like to stay, all at sea, as It were

But of course you are a player it seems
And with a penchance for luggage, perhaps you would like to go on a trip, all expenses paid, with some beautiful luggage
You will begin in exotic Panama, then a little side trip to Columbia to visit with some friends ,then beautiful Mexico, a little backcontry hiking then USA and home ok.
My people will be in contact

Looks like Evocca branding to me (am I allowed to disclose?)

  • -1

Thanks. Got 100 and now going to sell them on eBay.

  • +1

I wonder if there is a cheap but attractive way of putting OzBargain branding on them all?

    • +3

It's Ozbargains, don't need to be attractive just cheap.

      • +1

Draw the ozb logo in crayon onto paper and then iron carefully onto the bag.

    • +1

Get patches made and sew on lol

  • +5

And by the way if your in ormeau anyway head up to Tamborine Mountain for cheap avocardo's.
Pick your own, or its a couple a bucks for a bag full roadside
and the views are frigging awesome so take a decent camera

    • +7

How much for a full laptop bag?

      • +4

$0 if you can climb a tree or byo stick with hook

    • +5

Proof that supermarkets overcharge hideously for avocados.

      • Probably to offset the cost of shipping them from miles away, because I can't remember seeing local produce ever.

  • +8

    Dinner sorted, thanks.

    • Bags for dinner?

      • +6

        few thousand bags for dinner.

      • +4

        protein is prot-

        wait.

  • +1

Thaanks Adam, here come me backpacker!

  • +1

if he's truly desperate surely he could put this on gumtree and he'd basically get swarmed by locusts

    • +1

Ozbargain is for the professional, and I'm proud that the guy recognises this, unlike other retail stores….

      • +6

I asked his permission before putting it on here.

    • +1

There is a Heather selling them on Gumtree for $4 each - Gaven location.

  • +8

    Annual OzBargain meetup @ Ormeau!

    • So are you providing us free stuff annually from next year?

      • +2

I'll give you free jokes, a free handshake, a free hug and freedom to reply to any of my posts.

  • +5

Fresh stuff?! Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god…. breathe…. breathe…

  • -1

I'll have to drive down from the Sunshine Coast. Would the guy giving them away cover my fuel cost?

    • +1

Hit the truck stops on the way with a garden hose, you'll probably be good

      • +1

Hit the truck stops on the way

I'm sure he can make money at the truck stops with just his hose.

        • +1

          Well if coming from Noosa,
don't forget to stop at Wild Horse Mountain Mobil then,
          turn left at the mirrorball

Has anyone picked up any? If so how many? Just to track how many OZbargainers in this end of the woods. I picked up 40 BP and 15 LB. The backpacks have been sent through to a lady doing hampers for the homeless and the laptop bags have been circulated in the office.

    • +1

      that's really good of you!

    • +2

      Good work!

  • +3

Just a thoughtful and considerate thing to do, do not need any but THANKS for your efforts.

  • Crap. I live just down the road (Upper Coomera) but can't get there during those hours! Arghhhhh

  • +1

    Yes, it's just past the
    Big Gumboot 👣

  • Wondering why are they giving them away.

  • +2

Are any of these still available? I run charity that sends things up to Papua New Guinea and these would be fantastic

    • I'm sure they are. These are awesome quality and would be great to get them used and loved as opposed to landfill in Aus. Good luck.

  • I would think so, why don't you ring them and put forward your case or just back up a truck

  • Reckon they'll be open on Australia day? The hours are hard to make for those stuck at the office all day. Good excuse to visit Ikea/Yatala Pies while out that way though….

    • Probably not open.

  • @ricodbn do you have a contact number ?

    • I do. Me or Adam?

  • @ricodbn - were you able to get an idea of how many left. Don't want to go there and then find that there are none left. It is a good 45 mins drive for me.

    • Have sent you a PM

      • May I know how many left there?

        • Hopefully someone has been today can advise. I really doubt they will run out soon. Over 3000 of each there yesterday morning.

  • +1

Thanks OP, couldn't make it so asked the wife to get some. Still heaps left. If you're after a desk for home or the office or general office style furniture in general they are going insanely cheap for pretty decent stuff too. As an example a decent desk for using at home/office is only $25

    • +1

I did mention the tables and chairs in the post, most of us don't see passed the free 😄

      • HaHa indeed, but still VERY OzBargain priced office furniture. Just hope they have some left come my next day off.

    • Five office chairs and a white board for $60. Thanks ricodbn.

  • ISIS getting wet hearing about this.. But in all honesty who is going to broden this haha lol.. Its qld so i am out

  • Damn i want some of the t shirts.. The holes in my old ones are starting to look bogany and tacky

  • Yeah went there yesterday arvo… Still so many left! Didn't see the tshirts but got a couple bags and folios. Really good quality. And yeah heaps of cheap office equipment. $10 for office chairs. Picture frames $2. Dividers, desks etc.
    Thanks for listing OP

  • Damn.. if that was in vic I would have been all over that

  • Anyone have pics of the desks etc? Cheers

    • They are on gumtree.. Search for desk in ormeau… But most are sold.. But if you live locally might be worth a stop in..

  • Thanks OP, went there this morning and got few bags.. Plenty left.., Selling office furniture also very cheaply. Saw few guys loading chairs & office furniture in rental vans…
    Really a bargain…
It seems they are not open on weekends..

    • You sure about the weekend? I'd like to swing by tomorrow but it's a bit of a drive for me (40min) for them to be closed. original post says 12-3pm?

      • +1

Yes, I asked for the timings over the weekend, as my friend was also interested to go there.. The guy managing the store said it would be closed on weekend and open again on Monday..

  • Hi all. Anyone went around Friday arvo? I see the stuff on the local Tender Disposal Facebook page and suspect they may have cleared the freebies. They are selling at 2 for $10

    • I was there today at about noon, I think they still had bags available… Saw lost of sold stickers with "tenders" on all the furniture… I didn't end up getting any bags myself (don't need any).

  • Wonder if theres any available if These are being sold at 2 for $10 by Tender Disposals Springwood. I would like to send some to an orphanage overseas that I support. The kids would love these. But I guess its been cleared by Tender Disposal

    • I would say so. I was there on Friday and saw guys from Tender Disposals (logo on their shirts) loading up utes with boxes of the backpacks and laptop bags and making several trips. Annoying that they are selling them 2 for $10. BTW I researched and Evocca College had a graduation rate of about 10% despite claiming more than $290 Million in Govt funding via the VET FEE-HELP student loan scheme, that was closed down in Dec 2016.The figures show out of 38,213 students who signed up to its Diploma courses in the past four years, only 2,058 were handed Diplomas by October 2014.There were 16,567 students who officially cancelled and 3,897 who timed out of the course. The Company was investigated by the Govt for the way in which they signed up students and their low rate of completion. They used to provide a lap top with the prospective student agreeing to a $20K Loan Debt that was paid to the company by the Govt and supposed to be paid back through the tax system once the person's income was $52K. One has to presume that some of the $290 Million was used to purchased these Back Packs & Lap top bags in previous years - so technically they belong to tax payers who are now funding a huge chunk of that $290 Million that this company received and will never be paid back. They should be free to tax payers!
