    Time to fatten up ay

    • +2

I don't think many people are struggling to do that

  • +12

Beautiful formatting, will have this for lunch and then nuggets for dinner.

    • +5

      I'm getting good :)

      • +4

you've got the seal of approval of the formatting master, Savas savaS. well done.

  • Who said with that survey I can get up size? I think they will give another drink and another chips only.

    • +3

Just ask them to upsize the chips. I just realised they wony upsize the drink, as its not equivlant to 600ml

edit: what am i saying… 375+200 = 625. Just ask if you can use the free chips and drink to upsize the $5 box and they should say fine.

      • +1

They normally upsize to a 375ml can for a $1.

However I feel that Hungry Jacks has the best offer right now with the small coke and fries with a whopper for $5,90… esp. if your outlet has unlimited refills.

        • +2

Best deal is the coupon for 2x whopper juniors and 2x small fries for $4.95 (can find coupon on frugal feeds)

Then shake and win to try win a drink or get a $1 frozen coke

Always feel like shit after eating that much food….. So you know u have done well

    • +1

why upsize the drink. Better to get 2 cans so if you don't want to drink it all, you can save one for later.

      • how much do they charge for an additional can?

        • +1

No, I mean like the $5 box comes with a 250ml can (assuming youre not from QLD). If you do the GES survey, you get a 375ml can.

So you get 2 cans of drinks.

        • damn G, you are too professional

        • @cheapisgood: QLD get's 250ml can

      • plus sometimes they give me a 600m drink for the survey :D

  • +6

Thanks for supporting all the struggling people in Australia with cheap meal deals. You should become prine minister of the country

    • +1

but donald trump only just got elected. OP will have to wait another 4 years.

      • You said my name?

        • -2

          No?

    Nice!

  • 2 weeks ago, i ordered the 9 pieces for $9.95 Tuesday. So i got the receipt and did the survey, and proceeded to claim my free chips and drink, but then the staff tells me that i need to spend $4.95 on my next visit or order to claim it? I told them that i already spent $9.95 but they still replied that it has to be the next visit or new order. Is this a new policy or does it vary between different stores and managers?

    • +3

That's been the same policy for ever, you need to spend $4.95 in a transaction to reedeem the free chips and drink. If you spend over $19.95 in a transaction you get a Large Chips/Drink

      • -2

Yeah i thought so, because i've done it before and no problems. But yeah just this time was a bit different.

        • +2

I meant the store was correct. You need to spend $4.95 in an order for the free chips/drink button to be activated

        • Oh no sorry about the confusion, what i meant is can you claim it on the same transaction of the receipt purchase? I understand that you have to spend $4.95 in order to get the free chips/drink.

        • @MysticalWok: No! You have to spend $4.95 on the transaction where you get free chips and drink

        • +6

@oscinator1988: that took way longer than it should have

    • +1

That is what it has been since day 1. When you purchase something, you get the receipt. Spend at least $4.95 on your next purchase to redeem the free chips and drink.

    • Always been the case. Min spend of $4.95.

      EDIT: ^^

  • With how cheap they are getting 375ml cans it seems like they wouldn't be saving much by using the 250ml cans, needlessly cheap IMO.

    • +2

Yeah, but at the volume they sell, it would be.

KFC currently has at least 600 stores in Australia. Let's say each store sells 50 of these promos a day on average, and that their savings per can are $0.05. Per day, each store would be saving $2.50, the company would be saving $1,500 across all stores. During the 28 days of the promo, that would mean at least $42,000 savings for the company.

Honestly, I think they would sell more than 50 of these average per day, but there you go.

      • Just to point out "saving" from promotion sounds like a flaw in principal.

    • If I can weigh in, I believe the reason for the 250ml can is purely so they can easily upsell an easy $0.50/$1.00 so they can make people get the full size can/bottle of flavour they want. Notice how there is only 1 flavour to choose from which most people don't even like?

      • That makes more sense, thanks for the reply.

  • No kfc in a 45km wide radius.. yay..contemplating if it is worth the $5-6 opal return trip

  • +1

Wish KFC would make this deal permanent :P

  • Nice deal. Can I swap out the chips and potato for a salad?

    • +1

For QLD/WA you cant. They are very stict with swap out's.

      • For Yum stores (VIC, NSW, TAS) etc, yea you can change sides

  • What about the NT? :(

    • NT should get it.

  • can I swap out the potato and gravy for upsized chips like usual?

    • Usually with set deals like this you can't swap and change

  • -5

Shame I can't swap the gravy. I used to be the biggest fan of it. (regularly finishing a whole large sized tub of potato+gravy at once)

Until I found out it was literally the sludge left at the bottom of the fryer.

    • +5

You understand that's how gravy is made……

      • -1

Also with all due respect to KFC, its just powdered gravy like gravox… its made in a factory where its just powdered up chicken stock whatever

        • +2

No KFC gravy is made different (former employee)…

Oil gets filtered, all the bits left are put into a pot and stuff added to make gravy :)

        • @apptrack: well i used to work there making it and that did not happen. the gravy is a packet and the potato is also a packet. there was nothing from the fryer added to it

        • @kima: Not how our store did it. This is exactly how we did it:

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRvyNuFGcHA

        • +1

@kima: Depends on the store, most stores make gravy with the left over oil drained then freezed into a gravy pack. Some stores though who have newer Fryer's which recylye oil dont produce the same amount of fat, and if they cant get the frozen fat/gravy from other stores they have to revert to the powdered gravy mix, which IMO tastes horrible.

        • +1

At my KFC, and at most of Australia, every night when the oil is filtered from the fryers the left over fat is frozen together and then reused in a pot of boiling water and some flavours to make the gravy.

    • +1

you don't know that is how gravy is made?

  • +2

    Get in mah belly!

  • +2

The slider is as small as a thumb size spring roll in case you think 1 $5 lunch is enough you might need 2 of them.

    • +1

Agreed, I used to buy the $5 boxes more often when they came out, but they've always included a very small main piece (eg, mini chicken sub, wrap, grilled pieces, etc) and I realised there's far better value elsewhere on the menu now, particularly with the the Feedback Chips/Drink, and access to the Xpress App prices if you have this at your store. Twice the food for not much more $!

  • How much is the savings with this deal?

    • About $7. After 5PM when the deal expires then if you press it on the register the deal goes to $12.75, as it does not discount anything.

      • Awesome.

This and $5 pizza would be my go to if I ever forget to bring lunch from home.

  • -2

The wrap is very tiny, design to feed a baby only

    • What do you excpect, its $5. If you want more buy another box

      • +2

The name LUNCH BOX implies it can feed a adult as a lunch meal.Otherwise better rename it to snack box or kid lunch box to avoid misleading customer.

        • It is enough for lunch?

        • @oscinator1988: Relax mate. Kawara is making a valid point as have others above.

  • For the uninitiated, how do I make use of this deal? Go to the counter at a KFC store, use my phone to get to OB, click on the deal…and don't see any $5 lunch box deal. Also, is this deal available for the next 24 days?

Please help, I am hungry for KFC! :)

    • Have you walked into a KFC store yet?

      • I haven't been into a KFC store in months. I thought that this deal used coupons or something, like Hungry Jacks deals I've seen on this site. With the Hungry Jacks deals, one can store a picture of the coupons on their phone that they can show at the counter to get the discount. I guess this KFC deal doesn't work like that.

    • +2

This deal is just walk in order deal.

    • +1

Please help, I am hungry for KFC! :)

Did you end up getting any food? Please don't keep us in such suspense!

      Did you die of starvation?

  • If I was to buy 2 of these, could I swap both drinks for 1 Krusher
    ?
