Chemist Warehouse Exchange Policy on Optislim

Hi Ozbargainers,

I bought Optislim for my wife and bought the wrong flavour. Went back to Chemist Warehouse and they won't exchange the product. I just purchased it two days ago.

They said they can't exchange anything that is consumed through orally.

I have not opened the box and not used anything.
I get how you can't exchange vitamins and medicines but meal replacements have been able to be exchanged at Woolworths and Coles. Dam bought the wrong store this time.

I would like to ask if Chemist Warehouse have the rights to not allow me to exchange, for a different flavour of the same product, or to get a refund.

  What you're asking is an exchange for change of mind, stores do not legally have to exchange or refund you for your error. Some store may allow exchange, but thats for goodwill, not because you're entitled to it.

  Lol, will they let you return items that are consumed rectally? They're just being pricks, I use to be in the profession. Pharmacies do not allow refunds or exchanges for medicines due to storage/temperature compliance issues. Optislim doesn't really count.

    I can see their reasoning though
    who is to say you've tipped all the optislim out and refilled it with something else (it happens btw)
    also its not resalable to the store as they cant sell 3/4 of optislim due to health and safety reasons
    You can push it to upper management but I gurantee if its been opened they will have some clause that allows them to not accept it for safety / health reasons

        "I have not opened the box and not used anything." I hear that so many times a day and I still get disappointed in people when the paint tin is full of water or the light bulb box has old burnt out ones in it but they swear to me "I have not opened the box and not used anything."
